To be honest, I never even knew civilians and police officers were allowed to own/carry some of the weapons that they are.

I'm a Military vet and was absolutely clueless to the fact that some crazy white dude could purchase the same weapons we use for like $500 beans, or that there were police officers using these same type of weapons on American citizens.

I'm not for abolishing the 2nd amendment at all because I know the power governments have over an armed population, let alone a defenseless one.

But we do have to make some changes to the types of weapons civilians are able to purchase and police officers are able to carry.

Lets clear some shyt up first and foremost for your simple minded ass:

I want modification of the 2nd amendment. Handguns under registration is what should be protected and legalized for those mentally able to do it. Assault weapons made on the battlefield should not be in any area in America where huge populations live in a small area (cities), the the SAFETY of others. A stray bullet fired in the wrong direction from a heavy powered weapon will kill an innocent person, which defeats the purpose of owning a gun to PROTECT people in the first place. When killing innocents outnumber the actual lives saved, there should be bannings or massive regulations.

If you believe that some AK has to be used just to protect a simple dispute, there is something wrong. No one said anything about BANNING the 2nd amendment.

You want to give the government the power to decide who owns guns, when the express purpose for the 2nd amendment was so the government could not decide who could own guns, but so that the whole populace could be gun owners to act as a potential threat to attempts to enact government tyranny.

SMH.

A person can own a AK if they want, a handgun if they want, long range rifle if they want. Theoretically the intention was any firearm or artillary that the government had the civilian populace could have to provide a check on the government.

AGain that you claim to be black and would want the US's racist white government to be able to arbitrarily establish standards to pick and choose who can own guns, and think they won't use these laws to disarm blacks, like they did in Chicago and DC and that this will work in your favor is absurd.

That said post reconstruction was the worst era for blacks post slavery and that was 1878. When they were enacting sundown laws, vagrancy laws, and other bullshyt so they could put black men in jail and use them for slave labor out of prisons.

Educate yourself of black american history.

There are a variety of ways in which the state goes after illegal cars, chop shops, and other ways in which stolen cars are distributed. The problem with this comparison to guns is that for the last 20 years, the federal government has not really gone after gun trafficking. Much of that focus was dismantled in the early 00s during Bush's terms. Gun trafficking and straw purchases are the major drivers of gun crime in America. Both practices flood inner cities with guns. People ask why does Chicago have so much gun crime despite tough gun laws. The answer is simple and obvious: Illinois is surrounded by states with little to no gun laws, and people drive those guns in underground and sell them, or trade them for drugs.

You want to decrease gun violence in inner cities? Let the ATF do it's job and track gun trafficking. Let the FBI do its job and go after it as well. Everyone here has seen The Wire right? Remember the scene in S1 where the dude from the feds said the department wouldn't give a shyt about Avon unless his last name was Mohammad? That's what happened to the FBI in real life. They've moved away from guns, mafia, etc in favor of terrorism. That needs to change.

BATFE did EXACTLY what you proposed... and on top of that, they purposely let guns be illegally sold and trafficked. and lost nearly 1500 guns. They fukked it up so bad that it's a miracle that nobody brings that up.


If these folks at the federal and state level were actually doing their jobs, they'd have less crime to deal with... but that ain't good for business.
