That's why the argument can never be won. Gun nuts always talk about well "this could happen". So there's no way to argue against it.

The discussions should be about reducing the amounts of ALL guns. Legal and illegal.

This is actually something where I have hope for millennial and younger, because it seems we're pretty anti-gun across the board. Could lead to some significant legislation in 25+ years

I want modification of the 2nd amendment. Handguns under registration is what should be protected and legalized for those mentally able to do it. Assault weapons made on the battlefield should not be in any area in America where huge populations live in a small area (cities), the the SAFETY of others. A stray bullet fired in the wrong direction from a heavy powered weapon will kill an innocent person, which defeats the purpose of owning a gun to PROTECT people in the first place. When killing innocents outnumber the actual lives saved, there should be bannings or massive regulations.

If you believe that some AK has to be used just to protect a simple dispute, there is something wrong. No one said anything about BANNING the 2nd amendment.

Now you're talking about two different things. One of the biggest changes and differences between the US now and those countries then, is that no one leader is allowed to be President for more than 2 terms. This is a fail safe that was in fact implemented after FDR's 4 terms in office during WWII for this exact reason. Those who don't learn from history are bound to repeat it...

I'm gonna start saying you guys are fukking retarded because it's been said I don't know how many times gun control is not revoking the 2nd amendment and it never was. When you see governments like Syria and Libya being destroyed because BOTH sides have guns and weapons and tanks...do you see anything getting better? Do you see any change happening? Did having those weapons stop their government from trying anyway? The best case scenario for that, is everyone dies. At worst there's a long drawn out war and pieces of a country to show for it.

The best defense for that is not even a weapon. That's why Putin is fukking genius. He can destabilize a region without even lifting a fukking finger on a trigger. Why don't you try that approach. I got no prob with Mike supporting gun rights. I disagree with him on some issues relating to guns but there's no question guns have played an integral role in civil rights.

My problem here is that he's in a video with the NRA, talking about fake allies who don't care about black people...when the NRA never has shyt to say about black people killed by cops. In fact when the NRA does say anything, they blame the black person. See: Dana basically saying Castille brought his death on himself. The NRA is not your friend or ally, in fact they profit off scaring white men who are scared of black people.

Ask yourself two things.

1. What would Huey Newton say about black ownership of guns?
2. What would Huey Newton think about the modern NRA?

We know the answer to #1. He fully supported the second amendment and recognized that its use could defend black people (to a degree) and force political change. But...what would Newton think about a rights organization that largely ignores black people while arming whites with propaganda videos wherein blacks are cast as savages? The only way that the 2nd amendment could be a viable means for us to protect ourselves from white supremacists is if it was expanded to be unlimited in scope. If people were allowed to own whatever then it’d be worth black people defending. As it is tho, the 2nd amendment offers us no protection to white supremacy. The way that the 2nd amendment is enforced in this society only reinforces white supremacy. Most legal gun owners in this country are overwhelmingly white(even when looking at the percentages) and that’s not by accident. The gun community in this country is part of white supremacist society. I’ve seen several videos of white gun stores refusing to sell to blacks which is perfectly legal under the law. To properly arm/defend ourselves against white supremacy, we’re going to have to go outside of the law. That’s why you and people like killer mike look stupid. You’re advocating for laws for people and an industry that are racist against you. I’d bet that most black gun owners are off the books, by far.

I made this point earlier, the biggest threat that blacks face is from the white supremacist civilian population, not the government. If it wasn’t for the government, blacks would still be on plantation in slavery right now.
