At this point I don't expect Kinect to be mentioned anywhere in about 2 years.

Kinect is great tech. You're seeing it basically in the Intel RealSense cameras coming on new computers these days.

But as a game console accessory obviously it should have been a choice with more of the money for the console going towards the APU unit inside the One.

That is really fukked up to take away that feature for existing customers. I was still planning to get one with kinect but now it seems utterly pointless.

I am not surprised tbh. The writing is on the wall for the Kinect, there is no way new features are added to it. Games hardly ever use it either, it's basically a tool to use to turn on your xbox and to change channels watching tv.

I like it for that very reason, but what a fukking mess. This is the reason why Microsoft stumbled out of the gate so bad and it is no longer essential to the gaming console.
