Magic retired early due to aids and still has almost all the accolades that kobe does.
not to mention he is still the No 1 point guard of all time while kobe is only no 2 shooting guard.

kobe has more points.
both played with all time greats
etc etc etc.

only difference is magic did it first.

kobe has to actually surpass him, (not just do the same stuff more recently) in order to get my vote.

2000-2001 shaq was better than any single season kobe ever had, and shaq brought the franchise from the throws of mediocrity when they had their faith in nick van exel and eddie jones. Him absolutely sonning the league for 4 years ALONE makes him a better laker AND I LIKE KOBE a LOT.
