I don't think the way to look at this is that Reggie Miller or Clyde Drexler are necessarily "better", but rather "more effective"

Nobody would ignore Kobe's counting stats.

But when you're comparing players and eras, rate stats are far more accurate.

Some of these stats breh :mjlol:

nikkas wanna use the stats when they're convenient.

David Robinson is ranked #2 all-time in NBA history........coli favorite Tim Duncan isn't even amongst the Top 10 all-time:dead:

Now, if we started a thread which said David Robinson > Tim Duncan, nikkas would give us the :camby::pacspit: dap + undap, negged, reported combo.....but yet they are going by analytics that say that just to hate on Kobe:mjlol:

David Robinson was a great player. He very well may have been better. Certainly got overshadowed in terms of publicity by Jordan/Olajuwon/Malone in his era tho.

Not only was David Robinson not better than Tim Duncan, but David Robinson is not the 2nd greatest player of all-time breh:comeon:

I cant believe yall would stoop this low to hate on Kobe:heh:

Using an analytics system that says the 3 best players to ever play the game are Michael Jordan, David Robinson, and Chris Paul??????????????????????????????????????????????????????:bryan:

Kobe is the only all time great stats & analytics don't favor. Bird, Wilt, Hakeem, Shaq Jordan, LeBron, Magic, TD etc their obvious impact can all be translated into data Kobe's the odd one out for some reason. Wouldn't read too much into it.

I don't believe those ratings = a definitive list of best players ever.

I think those ratings are an indicator of effectiveness per minutes on the court.

I've stated quite clearly in the thread that counting stats matter too.

But if you wanna go Straw Man...that's cool too

According to those analytics, Chris Paul's 2009 season was better than Steph Curry's season last year:dead:

According to those analytics, LeBron James 2013 season was > any season Jordan ever had:deadmanny:

LMAO @ the thought of Reggie Miller, Ray Allen and Drexler being better than Kobe.

Articles like this and the numbers they're pulling out diminish the positives of analytics.
It's like analysts ignore the results of their findings as if the input always justifies the output.

Chauncey Billups 2008 season was > any season Tim Duncan ever had in his career:wow:
Maybe it was.
I'm not a slave to thinking that statistical analysis is the end-all, be-all when it comes to examining a player.

But I don't think that opinions based on perception are either.

There's a reason we use both. And the reasonable people understand that we don't automatically dismiss certain evidence simply because it doesn't jive with what we feel.
