He gets hate from all the Legends, because he tried to FORCE a dynasty. Kobe did not do that, MJ (Jordan and Johnson) didnt, Bird didnt, Isiah didnt, Barkley didnt, Malone didnt Hakeem didnt.......hell, Tim Duncan didnt do it, AI didnt do it, Vince didnt do it, Shaq didnt do it.

No other great player ran to play with another superstar in order to finally win a championship, while still in their prime, but LeBron James:manny:

I like all the stipulations you put in there.

Every player you named had great players with them for their titles. Some involving tanking seasons to get hof'ers.

But young black men dictating their feature you got a problem with that.

They mad cause lebron coming for or already took their spot. Why didn't anybody trip off the celtics?........ Exactly.

I see you left out the shooting % :smugKANG: and ignored that bron's overall stats shyt on Kobe's little 30/5/6 run:mjpls:

Why, cause he averaged 4 more boards as a 6'9 PF in the playoffs?:childplease:

Let's not forget about them Finals stats tho:shaq:

Kobe's 2009 Finals stats >>>>> LeBron's 2012 Finals stats.

How you 6'9 and average .4 blks in the Finals while Kobe at 6'6 averaged 1.4 blks and then supposed to be a passer first...but Kobe averaged the same amount of assists:ohhh:

With cigar in hand and sarcasm dripping from his words, Michael Jordan posed a question for Charles Barkley.

"Charles, what would you have done if Pip (Scottie Pippen) and I called you up and asked you to come join us in Chicago?" Jordan asked.

A look of disgust flashed on Barkley's face. Not in a million years, he scoffed, and his colorful language made Jordan smile with pleasure.

It was nothing more than a humorous exchange between close friends on the driving range of the American Century Championship. Yet it spoke volumes of how the NBA's old guard views LeBron James and his ignoble departure to Miami.

"Let me just tell you this," Barkley said. "Mike and I are in 100 percent agreement on this. If you're the two-time defending NBA MVP, you don't leave anywhere. They come to you. That's ridiculous.

"I like LeBron. He's a great player. But I don't think in the history of sports you can find a two-time defending MVP leaving to go play with other people."

To former NBA legends, the move has diminished James' profile. It's how the self-appointed "Chosen 1" has taken the easy way out, leaving his home to join another established star instead of leading a supporting cast up the mountain. In the process, he's breaking the protocol set by most great players.

A Western Conference general manager echoed the feeling to SI.com, saying that James' actions have caused many people to "feel like the sanctity of greatness is tarnished."

"It's disappointing from a competition standpoint," Barkley said. "You want to beat these guys. Sports are all about competition, and you want to beat the best. You want to beat Kobe (Bryant). You want to beat Dwyane Wade. That's what competition is about."

Jordan said, “There’s no way, with hindsight, I would’ve ever called up Larry, called up Magic, and said ‘Hey look, let’s get together and play on one team. But that’s…things are different. I can’t say that’s a bad thing. It’s an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty I was trying to beat those guys.”

Magic Johnson chimed in with, “We didn’t think about it because that’s not what we were about. From college I was trying to figure out how to beat Larry Bird”

Larry Bird added, “There is no way I would have joined Magic or Michael and play with them. The only time I ever wanted to play with Magic was on the Olympic team, and even then our practices were hard, and we beat each other up in practice.”

“(Reggie) Miller and I are in 100% agreement on this," Charles Barkley said. "If you’re the two-time NBA MVP you don’t leave anywhere. They come to you. That’s ridiculous. LeBron will never be Jordan. This clearly takes him out of the conversation.

"He can win as much as he wants to. There would have been something honorable about staying in Cleveland and trying to win it as ‘The Man.’ LeBron if he would have won in Cleveland and if he could have got a championship there, it would have been over the top for his legacy, just one in Cleveland. No matter how many he wins in Miami, it clearly is Dwyane Wade’s team.”

Damn, that was alot of Ether from a few of the greatest to ever lace up their sneakers when they found out LeBron was trying to force his own Dream Scheme Team:whew:

I'm sorry, you were asking what again?:dwillhuh:

Kobe wanted to play for the Lakers franchise itself. He was a Lakers stan, just like me, before he even got to the NBA. Shaq was just a "welcoming gift" from The Logo and Dr. Buss:shaq:

LeBron wanted to team up with Wade and Bosh to force a dynasty which has NEVER been done before in NBA history so blatantly, which is why all the Legends of the NBA give LeBron the :stopitslime: when it comes to where does he fit on the All-Time list

like Kobe still mad that he didnt get C Paul.... :usure:

before the season started he was already countin all the rings he was gonna get with d12 and nash :ahh:

Sounds like he is mad that it didnt work out for him as well as it did for bron :skip:

The problem is that I doubt that he will, even Jordan's championship greatness is conditionally tied to Phil. He had a certain respect as a coach that Mike Brown or D'antoni don't have.

Kobe has said it that he wanted to prove that he could win without Shaq, but he failed to prove that he could win without Phil. The same with Jordan, but I don't think Jordan was determined to prove that he could win one without Pippen or Phil.

The fact that Kobe won 2 without Shaq is impressive, but for people to act like he was the major reason for the other 3 rings and Shaq was Luc Longley status is revisionist at best.

Nobody believes that. When Kobe haters say Kobe got carried and was the "waterboy" you cause the other side to push back. If everybody could just acknowledge peacefully that it was a partnership between those two, it would be no disagreements.

I mean, listen to the Kobe haters seriously. Really listen to them. If you see one guy averaging 28.7 points and the other guy averaging 28.5 points and you dont think that's a partnership, you have an agenda.

And Kobe beat Dwight Howard in the playoffs.....something LeBron has never done:umad:

Lastly, Kobe averaged 32 ppg against the Thunder last year in the playoffs.....LeBron only averaged 28 in the Finals against them:manny:

Real talk. I wish it was more of a common understanding about certain things.

But common understandings get thrown in the bushes quick when it doesn't cater to a fan/Stan's argument.

Like its common and everyone can agree lebron fukked up in the finals vs Dallas.

But let someone bring up Kobe's bad game 7. And a stan will explain that shyt away as if he was the reason for the win or that he didn't have a bad game.

What does chuck/rest think now tho???

:shaq: post some new quotes breh

Ok

All these quotes range from March 2012 to 4 days ago
“I love to watch LeBron play the game, but you have to go with the championship. I’m saying you have to go with the 5 championship, you just have to, but that’s just me." - Karl Malone

“If you had to pick between the two, that would be a tough choice,” Michael Jordan said in the article. “But five beats one every time I look at it.”

"Kobe has five championships. Until he [LeBron] gets six . . . it's very unfair to put him past Kobe.” - Shaquille O'Neal

“Everybody’s always asking, ‘Who is better between Kobe (Bryant) and LeBron?’” Johnson said. “I’m like, Are you kidding me? I’m like you’re kidding me … Kobe, five championships; LeBron, zero. I love the young man though" - Magic Johnson

Apparently, Magic believes in Championships > Individual Success as well:yeshrug:

When Larry Bird speaks, it’s still a big deal.

When Bird chooses Kobe Bryant over LeBron James as the modern-day player he would like to have had as a teammate — as the Indiana Pacers team president did on ESPN.com in March — the choice resonates.

“Well, probably Kobe,” Bird told Bill Simmons at the time. “Because of the fact that … well, of course he wouldn’t have been shooting as much as he does now … but his desire to win, his dedication to always get better, and he’s just, he’s just tough. He’s just a tough cat.”

Bird added that “if you want to have fun, like I did with Bill Walton, [you] play with LeBron. It would have probably been more fun to play with LeBron, but if you want to win and win and win, it’s Kobe. Not that LeBron’s not a winner, just that [Kobe's] mindset is to go into every practice, every game, to get better.”

In light of all the shots and slights LeBron has absorbed since relocating to Miami two summers ago, I asked Bird about those comments on Monday.

“I’ve been a Kobe fan since he was a little kid,” Bird told me. ”I coached against Kobe [in the 2000 NBA Finals]. They made a lot out of that. I said if you want to have fun, you play with Bill Walton. Me and Bill Walton won the most games we ever played. We had a blast doing it. We knew we were going to win a championship. That’s just the way it is.

“But Kobe has always been my favorite, ever since he was a little kid coming into this league."

Excuse me.....where you saying something?:dwillhuh:

Un-unh, you cant tell me nothing:yeshrug:

Seems like all the Legends prefer rings > individual numbers.....even Karl Malone:russ:

Off topic, but from the files of "Kobe gives no fukks Vol. 235612526986"

Just when you thought the NBA had exhausted every apparel possibility, the All-Stars wore new warmup jackets that included chest patches recognizing career accomplishments such as NBA titles and most valuable player awards.

"I wore mine proudly, I'll put it to you that way," Bryant said. "I had a little bit more on mine than everybody else. I was just very, very happy that when I looked across the locker room, Tim [Duncan] only had four trophies and I had five. That made me feel really good. I rubbed it in."
