Isn't the key to this the issue of his injury? That's why you would amnesty him. I've been hearing everything from he could potentially miss the entire season to he will be ready for training camp. If he will in fact be ready for the start of the season or soon thereafter, then no you don't amnesty him. But if it starts looking like he's gonna miss considerable time, then you amnesty him. Remember, an amnesty on Kobe saves the Lakers $80 million. If he cant play, you wanna just hand over $80 mill for nothing? You don't want to pay that kind of dough if he's gonna be Derrick Rose'in it next year. If that's the case, then just sign him back next summer.
