So a 2014-2015 team with an aging Pau, a withered Kobe, a lottery pick, and two lower tier max contract guys? That's what you're banking on? :usure:

The Lakers are in good position to rebuild but rushing things for Kobe's sake would sabotage the whole process.

If you don't care about the Lakers, you should be hoping he gets amnestied so he can get a Mitch Richmond ring.

As much as I clown, the Lakeshow organization can't be that demented. But, if it happens, just imagine how crush Tobe's ego would be :blessed:

I just can't see the Lakers doing this under any circumstances. It wouldn't be good look for their organization and they would get a lot of bad press for this.

I'm aware that this could happen. As a team(Especially if Dwight goes to Houston), we are not going anywhere. Why pay all that luxury tax if you aren't competing for a championship?? makes no sense. B/c then, we'd be just like the Knicks #KnicksTape :heh:

It all depends on his health, if hes out for most of the year or wont get back to a 100 % this year, then it makes no sense not to amnesty him. Except for the PR hit, so they'll have to take that into consideration too.

But paying the tax isnt something teams wanna do anymore because you arent getting the MLE or the ability to make sign and trades if you're paying the tax.

So its a legit problem for the Lakers. I doubt they do it but IF they feel he wont be healthy this year, they might do it because whats the point of paying 60 mill extra just to be a lottery team?

No one has reported he'll miss the entire season. Lies.com

I didn't say anyone reported that, but when he tore his Achilles, among the various time periods was that its a recovery period of 9-12 months. I've also herd 6 months. My point is that his recovery time should be the major factor in deciding if he should be amnestied. Even if he could come back soon after the all-star break, you have to consider the Lakers season would likely be done at that point anyway.
