The haters have been saying the same thing for years. Just waiting for the GAWD to slow down and break down like everyone in his draft class.

It must hurt you to see you he is not slowing down and is have one of his best years.

if you think scoring 25+ points and LOSING with one of the best teams on "PAPER" is impressive I have a bridge to sell you...

On paper everyone was healthy.

Last time I checked the team has been injured all season long with a retarded coach to start the season. :pacspit:

Since when did they start playing the finals in December?

What's impressive is he is still a top NBA player after being in the league for 17 years and still playing at a high level.

What other player from his era is still doing what he is doing? Get back to me when you find someone from his era still holding it down in his mid 30's and being a top NBA player. Child please... :childplease:

Cool, what about the wins? What about the fact he has one of the worst assist to turnover ratios in the league and he's playing with the "best center in the league". Kobe scored 42pts on 26 shots, had 5 turnovers, a bare minimum of 40 possessions and even more where he touched the ball and all he had to show for it was 2 assists. When he acts as a facilitator first and scorer second, they win, when he tries to black out and win the game himself, they lose. Teams are winning in spite of his big games because they slow everyone else down, and he doesn't seem to notice it.

AI averaged 33ppg, 7apg and shot 45% from the field, his team was 35-47. There's something to be said about dominating the ball and putting up hollow stats in losses.

Malta is dropping knowledge and no one wants to listen :smh:

Now sure, the 1-10 record when Kobe shoots 20+ fga or scores 30+ points is somewhat of an ESPN stat, but at what point do people want to stop saying it's just dumb luck and coincidence? When you factor in FGA, FTA, and turnovers, Kobe is using an average of 10 more possessions in losses than in wins. People always try to say he just takes over when the rest of the team isn't clicking, but in many of these games, he used 10+ possessions in the 1st quarter alone. Is he psychic?

There are games where Kobe looks to facilitate, the Lakers play some inside out basketball, and look fairly functional, if not efficient, on offense. Other times, it looks like the Lakers sole focus the entire game is to get Kobe his fukking points. Kobe comes down court and goes into immediate ISOs. Duhon or Morris kill a fastbreak to slow down and set up a Kobe ISO. No one cuts to the basket or sets any screens so Kobe has more room to ISO. It's ugly basketball. If you look at most of the Lakers losses, that is the gameplan from start to finish, it isn't something that just manifests itself when the Lakers are down 10 and need a spark.

For the other guys on the team to be engaged and able to step up in big situations, they have to be regularly featured in the offense. The Lakers' roster has almost completely turned over the last few years but it's still the same story, teammates standing back and watching while Kobe goes into Kobeball. If Kobe wants those other guys to stand up to him and pull a Carlton Banks, he sure hasn't shown it.
well...I want to right now

Kobe has scored 30 in of the last 5 games, and we've one them all

Right now there isn't much of a difference between Kobe's stats and Durant's. In fact Durant has an even worse assist to turnover ratio. Durant is praised as having an MVP type season and playing his best ball while Kobe is being accused of causing the Lakers to lose.

Kobe is not the problem. The problem has always been the team's lack of defensive rotation and turnovers on offense. Kobe has had a few bad games but at this point he shouldn't even be pointed to or talked about.

Though i think he shouldn't be scoring as much Kobe getting 30 a night at this point after all the games and years in the league is remarkable. But for the Lakers to reach their potential then the scoring load will have to be more balanced. Which will probably happen now that Nash is back.

Lol. I knew someone was going to say Duncan. Duncan has not been in the top 5 players in years and has not been an elite player for a while. He is having a good season this year and now all of a sudden he is an elite player? :win:

No way Ducan is better than Bron, Kobe, Durant, Howard, Rose, etc.

he had a resurgence tho, the previous 2 years he averaged 13 & 9 and 15 &9

thats nowhere near his prime level of proudction
his per 36 numbers matched his prime per 36 numbers

Duncan wasnt featured as the main man in San Antonio the last 3 seasons
:usure:

Kobe is putting up prime Kobe numbers
Duncan is putting up pime Kevin Willis numbers

thats fair, but Duncan is still the best big man in the NBA. And his defense will get him back on the All NBA first team again.
