And it was way easier to score in '05/06. Zone defenses weren't as advanced as they are now and that was right after the rule changes and the refs hadn't adjusted to them well so they were blowing the whistle on EVERYTHING. Free throws skyrocketed those first few years until the refs started to get a little less strict and subtly adjusted rules to get rid of easy FT tricks like the rip-through.

Exactly. Kobe ball hogged cause he felt he had to. Notice when pau gasol got there, Kobes PPG went down. He never averaged over 30 again after pau came to the lakers but before him, Kobe averaged 35 and 31 im two seasons
