NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
(Bizzy)
7 A.M., woke in the morning
With Hen' and caffeine and green and nicotine
No dough, so pop a couple of doze
Lil' RIPsta, nikka Mista Clean
nikka Dean, deep in my temple and not to get
Sentimental, I sting with my
Instrumelody, and heated
Especially for your team
And a .45, indeed, will beam
In between the scenes. Destroy your dreams
You willing to die? We'll see
How many flee when I cause the scene
We mean mug, Mo' Thugs
Trained to be perfect disciples
When it's survival, tongue is a double-edged sword
Triple six rivals spitting fire
This the real truth, bytch
Breaking out for lies
My Messiahs better be ready for Armageddon, shyt's expired
It's wild, bless the child
The one that became a man
Put in positions off in the Clair
All that I had to do was stare
Test me now. Contender - never no surrender, no pretend
Pick up my pen in my hand
One of my trusted friend-friends, hey
Open it! Let's see if we're real, we all suited
Beg my pardon to Martin
Baby we ain't marching, we shooting!
In daily recruiting there's a thug born
Everyday in the ghetto
We start em off little, we give em a bottle
And a pen and a pad to hit the label, kick it

You keep speaking as if you were old enough to have these kinds of discussions with young adults or old heads back in 97. You said you were 11/12 when he died right? So what kind of discussions could you have at that age for real? I was a young adult back then & had those discussions with NY'ers & southern peoples that couldn't believe Big not only did their style but out did them. The hype behind that Big verse was the fact that it was his first time changing his flow that drastically & he out rapped them all by far. That's a fact anyone old enough would cosign that like @NormanConnors did. I was there & had these discussions with many different adult rap heads back then. It's only recent history where cats like you wanna flip the script & downplay not only Big but east coast rap in general.

dont play urself out like a dikk breh. just because you were a dweeb at 12, it doesnt mean everbody else was. dudes stay exposing themselves on here.

and i dont care what real or fictitious people you chopped it up with. theyre just as ignorant to the subject as you are.

and age has nothing to do with it. i can tell from right here that my lil cousin who was 5 at the time, knew more about double-time BACK THEN than you do now in 2014.

Nah Bone definitely went hard on the track. You are trying to slight Biggie there. Bizzy and Lazy had dope verses too. Biggie surprised folks straight up with the style switch. Folks were thinking no way he would twist when the collab was first mentioned. Popping in that CD though on first listen :ohlawd:

:why:

you the homie and all but why are you doing this? your entire previous post was based off of falsehoods and fables. and now youre back again just making other stuff up out the blue, hoping that it sticks.

im not slighting biggie at all. you just dont want to admit that you fell for the hype.

layzie bone went hard on the track now?? it was an okay verse but are we gonna act like that wasnt one of his weaker verses of the '90s? and we gonna act like junior mafia aint already tell the story multiple times about waking him up to do his verse and him passing back out right afterwards? bizzy bone merked the track and had the best verse by far, so i dont see your point of bringing him up. and he rapped like that thru most of their AOW album so i dont see how you can pinpoint him putting in extra effort.

and again i ask. who are all these people that were surprised? certainly not serious rap fans cuz we already watched rev run spit side-by-side with flesh like every other day on rap city before this little biggie verse.

For him it was :heh: still had bounce:manny: It was the attempt that mattered/ way he attacked the beat that had everyone going :whoo:. Bad choice of words there on my end.Biggie >>>

:what:

what type of 'A For Effort' participation trophy nonsense is this?

so now youre admitting that he really didnt outshine them, and you just say that he did "just because he tried".

I'm just going to have to disagree with y'all and leave it at that. Biggie had the better verse to me (factoring in lyrics, flow, delivery, impact, quotables), the shyt is classic and the most quotable verse on the song and one of the most recognizable in rap period. I was there live in effect for the hype when the double disc dropped/purchased first day. It was a major collab. Cats can't admit that Big stepped outside the box on the track and still killed it with no problem.

Now I do admit I used a bad choice of words by saying he double timed and etc, but that more so meant to generalize on a quick note what he did. The flow still had bounce to it which was used to compliment what Bone was bringing to the track, which people did not expect to happen.:manny:

Folks are trippin if they believe all parties involved didn't rip.

Now I know you're a cac. What Black person in their right mind would use the word dweeb. You cornball, down syndrome drooling at the back of the bus, country bumpkin, broke, misinformed weirdo. You were 11 years old when he died stupid nikka. You were running around with ish stains in your underwear playing with Legos in your backwoods state fakkit. That's a fact. Keep spewing your nonsense about an era you have no idea about. Now I know why @hustlemania got at you & broke you down. I'm officially done with dealing you. Eat a box of dikks sideways.

I feel what you're saying because I was deep into hip hop since about 5/6. From breakdancing to graffiti & the movie Beat Street back in 84 was the thing that snagged me. But let's be real, you're from BK like me & we had access & had a front row seat to all this from the 80's to the around 90's. This is preinternet boom. Would you agree?

you disagree with what? you based your entire argument off of false statements, my dude.

then you admitted that you were just giving him the nod as a participation trophy. now youre trying to say something totally different - while still slippin up and admitting that you fell for the hype.

what did biggie kill with no problem? he didnt even twist on the track.

:mindblown:

you know dam well you were in the house talking like cartoon characters deep into your teen years.

and seeing how you tried to throw the term "cac" in the mix out of nowhere, youre most likely white cuz thats what white posters do on here as soon as someone slightly pulls their skirt up.

I've already exposed you for your lack of knowledge & young mindset about an era you read about & think you know something. My screename? You don't even have a leg to stand on with yours. In fact I found a pic of you & your crew "dweeb".

if you're talking about who did the double time style better on the track technically it was clearly Bone. Biggie's verse was classic. He did his thing and he didn't embarrass himself at all, always fukked with it, he adapted it and did a slower version of the style. When people say Biggie did their style better than them I think that is short sighted and probably bias. If you're talking technically you can hear a big difference in the styles, Biggie didn't even do their style at all, he did an adaption of his style which suited the track more. Bone Thugs N HARMONY, Big didn't have the harmony part of it and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't see why people always wanna downplay Bone on here. Think the track could just be appreciated as a classic.

And I rate Biggie extremely highly, infact probably higher than the members of Bone. But Bizzy possibly had the best verse on the track, I've heard that lots actually from all different kinds of people, that Bizzy had the best verse on Notorious Thugz and Thug Luv. And could quite possibly be right. And by the way, it's not just ardent Bone fans that think this at all. Even Kool Moe Dee said that Jay Z sounded more comfortable doing double time than Biggie...
