I don't think Biggie failed because I don't think he was trying to do that. He was just trying to do something to keep up with Bone and not sound like shyt doing a faster flow, he succeeded and he did his thing. He has a great classic verse. I don't even know who's I like better, but in terms of double time Bone are easily better. But I don't know why people wanna bring that into the conversation really, because it's about the song more so. And it's a classic song so whatever everyone did worked..

My problem was people saying Biggie outdid them in they own style when he didnt even use they style...the song itself is classic...as well as Thug Luv feat Pac...and I always said I respected Pac for bringing his own energy to the track without trying to imitate them...

I hate when people try to rewrite history. Us hardcore bone fans on here know that Bizzy was the only one that killed it. Lazy and Krayzie had 6/10 rated verses. Like it was said, Krayzie's verse was recycled and didn't even go as hard. I'm a Biggie stan before Pac and even know that him passing away combined with him surprising everybody with how he flipped his verse made it feel like a gem. Bad Boy was impressed with some shyt bone had been doing in the studio since day one. Getting smoked out, P.O.D.'ed and still laying a verse with a flow that NOBODY could duplicate...

i know right?

but leave it to these guys who say bone went in hard after they heard biggie's verse. even tho its well-documented that biggie didnt lay his verse down until later and they didnt hear it until the album dropped, just like the rest of us.

and these same people STILL wanna argue.

That's what I said above too bro. That's exactly what I mean, Biggie didn't use Bone Thugs N HARMONY's style. They sounded completely different, Biggie used a faster tempo than usual to suit the track more, he did switch his style a bit and became somewhat closer to theirs but he didn't do their style at all. When people say he did their style better than them that is hyperbole. I like Thug Luv better, and I LOVE Pac's verse too. But I don't mind that Biggie switched his style a bit, I don't think he was trying to imitate them, I just think he was trying to not sound out of place on the track and fit in. I respect and give props that he had it in his arsenal to adapt and do that, he did a good job, But he didn't do their style, let alone do it better than them, if someone likes it better that's entirely different matter and fair enough but he clearly didn't do that style,. I don't think we should criticize Biggie for adapting or Pac for not as much because the ultimate goal is to create the best track possible and they are both classics. It's styles and choices, there's multiple approaches that can be taken effectively.

Biggie was very impressed after hearing Bone, and them doing that style. He was also a bit embarrassed to spit and practice the double time infront of them, that's the reason he went away to practice, he didn't want to embarrass himself.

and big still came up short. yall talk flow(LOL) and lyrics, but bizzy merked biggie in every category on here.
Biggie's verse = Bizzy verse, and on certain days when we're not being all nostalgic and get past the sensation on Biggie going double time, Bizzy easily went more ham.

Took that shot at "Triple 6 Rivals" :smugfavre:

if bizzy bone easily went more ham, then just say that.

stop giving pity points to biggie.

bizzy bone had the best verse by far.

Music is art.

Sensation and nostalgia is inevitably going to factor in.
