I hope this is true

I know in some states it doesn’t matter...the case I was on (NY) dude used an illegal handgun but bcuz it was deemed self-defense he was only convicted on the weapons charge and got off with time served since he’d been in jail/prison awaiting/during trial

...and it needs to be determined how complicit the mother was in all this...she is just as culpable if she put the rifle in his hands

Do you think that case in NY was decided correctly?

Edit: @19 No Covid , do you have the law that has the age required to carry long arms in WI?

That letter is also a slap in the face to Wisconsin. In the first sentence it mentions the Mayor and Governor failed to maintain law. So 17 y/o super cac had to come up from Illinois to protect the city. I'm sure that angle will go over well in court too.

The governor and mayor are both democrats. They're playing the "democrats cant keep peace" card and the fakkit cops will back that narrative too

depends on your definition of “correctly”

we felt we did the correct thing otherwise we wouldn’t have made the decision that we did collectively

if you mean “correctly” in tune to the letter of the law then no :yeshrug:

that sounds like jury nullification which is legally legitimate
Jury nullification - Wikipedia
there was a case at the undergrad i went to where a black student was charged with assaulting some cacs who were harassing him and dropping slurs at his dorm. jury threw it out because even though he broke the law it was justified

shyt I slept good regardless but that’s dope to know tho...and that’s basically what it boiled down to...we felt the charge was excessive...they were going for first degree...and I think that was a 20-25 year minimum sentence at the time...don’t remember

here are the rules according to both a pro-gun control and anti-gun control site
Minimum Age to Purchase & Possess in Wisconsin | Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
Wisconsin Gun Laws: What You Need to Know | USCCA
"Although Wisconsin state law imposes a minimum age of 18 for possessing long guns, there is no minimum age for handgun possession."
i'd guess the law is also stricter for people out of state but i don't know that for sure.

I got more to say...thats crazy
I'd fire my lawyer
A lawyers job is to be honest with you and tell you youre fukked if you're fukked
Those shenanigans work with Trump because its a Republican senate
With a jury its a toss up

Risk your life hoping ppl are dumb enough to believe bullshyt
But if you're dumb enough to go to a protest with a gun I guess it makes sense

Even if he wins, it's totally unprofessional for a lawyer and negligent

This just further cements the fact that he's guilty having to put out this fugazi statement.

Prosecutors are going to :eat: from this

damn...I just watched the one you posted...never seen that closeup...clear as day too

:francis: idk

the first shooting is still janky tho

The guy that had his biceps shot out clearly went for Rittenhouse's gun though? He ran up, then KR pointed his rifle at him so he put his hands up and after that just rushes for his rifle.

Fast forward to 3:34 and onward, FYI the end is very graphic.

really, i expect the kid to only get convicted of misdemeanor gun possession. everything else is a complete toss up.

the first victim is the key. if you can say his killing was illegal, then the other people who were shot are also probably illegal shoots since they were trying to apprehend a murderer. however, if that first killing is justified, then they could be seen as trying to wrongfully assault the kid who "merely defended himself". i dont know the demo of that county, but if extradited, it could be a scared white jury that just wants protesters to go away.

also hard to convict him on recklessness if the shots are considered self defense.

really, i think the best outcome would be to stop recording these protests so much and start neutralizing these fascist threats quickly

Bro watch that video just posted. An unarmed man ran after him and be shot him in the head.

As per posts in here, that’s it not self defence as it was not a justifiable level of retaliation.
