Guaranteed to get drafted and play in the nfl, or get drafted in the mlb and play in Pawtucket for 5 years and maybe play in the bigs

Think he’s making a mistake
Yeah should take that baseball money.
You got it backwards. The cap on what baseball teams are allowed to pay rookies means football money is better early on. That 4mil contract he's getting is all he'd get for years until he (if) he made the majors, and then after that those mega bucks baseball contracts don't kick in until you hit free agency and baseball deals are designed to keep you underpaid until you're 28-32. And minor league baseball players make WAY less than the "pennies" NFL players make.
The economic move is the one he's making. Get a big rookie deal in the NFL and then move to baseball in a few years if it isn't working out.
1st round QB - team will commit to you for at least 3 years, if no character issues.
if he's even MEDIOCRE after his rookie contract, he gets a guaranteed $5 mil per year for the rest of his career as a journeyman / backup. if he's above average and an established starter, he gets $20mil a year contract.
in baseball, he might be stuck in AAA forever. there's 0 guarantee if he succeeds. and even if he does succeed, he's only gonna get that $100 mil contract 8 years from now.
2nd-3rd round deal, then go be my future son's role modelIf he becomes a franchise QB, he can make just as much money playing football as he could playing baseball. Franchise QBs are now making $30mil/yr in the NFL. And they can have long careers into their late 30s. So over the long term, Kyler can make just as much money in the NFL as he would playing baseball.
Unless Kyler is also gonna be superstar baseball player, he probably won't make more money in baseball than he will in football as a franchise QB.

Yeah should take that baseball money.
I would have choose Baseball.
dumbass
It’s dumb but it’s his life.
He gotta make it to that second contract first.
U see with even mariota and jameis these guys struggling to even get to that second deal.
Jameis shouldve went baseball too. Guaranteed money
There’s plenty of articles from very smart people detailing why Football is the smart move
The baseball money y’all thinking about doesn’t really exist unless you’re a power hitter or 1st baseman
Jameis did the right thing

This. Read people. Nothing has been decided yet.Technically he hasn't chosen anything yet. This is just a move to keep his options open. More than likely he'll report to the A's in February/March, NFL draft is in April. Will be interesting to see where he is drafted when there is no guarantee he'll actually play football. Will a team try and strong-arm the situation and draft him top 10?
