The average starting nfl qb makes 20 million a year and that’s taken into effect that a good 30-40 percent are on their rookie contract still

Only 5 mlb outfielders made more than 20 million last year

Stupid. Why not go after a 15-20 year career playing baseball along with 3 very good contracts (during that career) in a sport where owners spend and even give players solid deals.

That’s not a guarantee 15-20 year career. I got two friends who were drafted one went in the first and the other in the second, and both of them aren’t playing anymore. They made good money, but baseball isn’t as easy as you guys have made it out to be either.

Plays baseball now and is successful = 29-30 year old FA with a possible 100 million dollar contract waiting for him

Plays baseball in 4-5 years and is (somehow) successful = making "pennies" throughout your prime and having to sign a bargain contract like most 33-34 year olds

I'd chase baseball now and come back to football. Better shot breaking in as a 25 year old QB than a 25-26 year old OF in A ball.

Yea baseball aint one of those things you leave for 4-5 years and then pick up a bat and be like you just played it yesterday

I actually think Murray can succeed in the NFL...just because the game is so different now. You can't destroy QB's anymore...so his size isn't that much of an issue when considering how little he'll ever be hit.

The biggest issue would be putting a quality O-line in front of him. The kid is much closer to 5'8" than 5'9", and throwing lanes will be vital. He played behind one of the best O-lines in the country at OU. If he's facing a collapsed pocket all the time it'll be damn near impossible for him to even see where he's throwing.

Given the right circumstances and how much the league has changed I can definitely see him doing well. Years ago he wouldn't have had a chance.

Not saying easy but you know the kind of career quality players have ahead of them. Obviously you have a lot who flame out but once you’re in, there’s a number of opptunties especially with the minor league system.

With the way the baseball market has been recently, this isn't a stupid decision. Baseball teams aren't spending money like they used to. Plenty of mid-tier/average free agents which Murray could be are out there struggling.

This. Baseball money is starting to dry up compared to past years. Hes fortunate that he plays a position im football where being half way decent could fetch him more money. Friggin Chase Daniels has made $30 million over the last ten years. Murray will be alright

This would be true if Kyler Murray were a pure pocket passer, but because he's a dynamic dual threat QB who can/will use his speed & quickness to make or extend plays, Murray will take more hits than a "prototypical" NFL QB.

Doug flutie was smaller , less athletic, and old as hell and still in the good ol days had no issues
