Jeff Passan joins Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter to talk about the options in front of former Oklahoma Sooner and Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray. Passan admits that he’s heard Murray’s team is asking for at least $15 million to choose the Oakland Athletics over the NFL Draft, but Passan doesn’t believe the number to be that high. Despite the exact number, Passan does see “multiple millions” needed in order to have the former Sooner stay away from the NFL Draft.

Good move by mlb. They need the name recognition to market. You got guys like Mike Trout beasting and no one knows him outside the baseball world. Ease up those dumb ass rules and you might get more athletes looking their way early on
The way baseball teams manipulate your service years are terrible, and arbitration is terrible. Got a star in the making like Vlad Jr more than ready to hit the majors and Toronto held off on it so they can keep him cost controlled as long as possible. Disgusting.

I'd chase baseball now and come back to football. Better shot breaking in as a 25 year old QB than a 25-26 year old OF in A ball.
Plenty of late 20 baseball players made it to the pros, im not so sure, it will happen in football at the same rate

Yup! Cubs did the same thing to Kris Bryant.

Jacob DeGrom won the NL CY Young last year. Dude is scheduled to make $17 Mill next season since he's still in arbitration. Hes been an ace since his rookie year. Dude is 30 now. He's worth double. Casual fans don't realize it takes YEARS to make money in the MLB unless you're a dud who gets called up from the minors at 19 like Harper. They also don't realize your rookie year and arbitration doesnt start UNTIL then.

Aaron Judge won't be a free agent for the first time until he's 31. He will be underpaid until then. Dude bounced around in the minors for a few years until his call up

Kyler can go into the NFL and he'll lock in 30 mill guaranteed as a top 5 pick. 20 mill on that 5th year option (he'dhave to be a COMPLETE bust not to get it. I mean Blake Bortles got his LOL)
Then if he's halfway decent he's getting ATLEAST $30 million + a year by then based on current QB contract trends. If he's a stud he's getting close to a record $40 mill a year. QBs are the only ones making MLB money.

yep and nfl qb salaries just go up and up, just a few years ago 20 mill was considered insane now thats avg

in 2015
After weeks of negotiations, the San Diego Chargers and Philip Rivers agreed to a four-year extension on Saturday night that will keep him with the franchise through 2019, announced the team.

The deal is worth $84 million with $65 million in guaranteed money, per Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

And this was considered insane at the time.

Russell wilson will prob get 35 mill on avg for his next and soon 30 mill will be average and 40 elite
