I watched Curry closely and while he was an excellent ballplayer. As I freshman, I didn't see NBA player. As a sophomore, I seen it but I didn't know his position and seen him as a Dana Barros type. His Jr year, you knew he could be a NBA starter but he didn't look like a potential superstar. He just kept get much better, year after year after year. Nothing else to it. We seen this with Westbrook. Late bloomers just grow like weeds. Look at Giannis.

Giannis and Westbrook always got more respect than Curry their first few years in the league. Everyone spoke of their potential.

Curry just had a lot of doubters (some of it due to his injuries) even though he still came in 2nd for rookie of the year.

Later, I remember when Monta got traded a lot of people were mad.

But obviously within the warriors organization they knew

Fans and the rest of the NBA didn’t see it

Meanwhile players like Lebron was watching Curry in college and likely had a feeling he’d be something special

kyrie always had the juice.

steph was a late bloomer and quite frankly benefited from the game changing to suit his style. that's not a knock on him either.

kyrie coulda gone toe to toe with iverson and been a great in any era tho.

Ain't nothing regular about Kyrie ability, skills, talent, and athletic ability. CP3 is an athletic, strength, skill, and talent marvel and Steph is just unstoppable at every level to match his shooting gifts.

Huh?

Dude, why are ya'll talking about talent? Obviously CP3, Kyrie, and Steph are all ridiculously talented. They are all dominant players in a league where the average player is 6'6" and athletic as fukk.

All I'm saying is, when they were HS kids, they all looked very unremarkable. Put 'em in a crowd of regular, non-athletic kids and they'd fit right in. If someone told you they'd all go on to become NBA All-Stars, you'd be like, 'Those three, baby faced nikkas???" Nate Robinson, who is significantly shorter than both, looked like a super athlete. Westbrook, who is in their height range, looked like an athlete in HS.

You know Danny Ainge, right? Regular as fukk looking white boy. He looked regular as a NBA player, so you can imagine what he looked like as a kid in high school. Would you believe this was his sports resume as a teenager;

"Ainge is the only person to be a high school first team All-American in football, basketball, and baseball."

Consider all the freakish as athletic dudes who've played sports over the past century, and the only person to ever be FIRST TEAM All-American - not All District, or All-State, but All-AMERICAN - is THIS dude ....

:mjpls: y'all sound like some weirdos*

If you can't grasp the concept of some people looking like world class athletes based solely on physical appearance and others looking like regular Joes, with world class ability, then you should probably fall back with the insults.

What are you talking about?

I'm not even knocking dude. I said dude don't look like an elite athlete. Especially not when he was in HS.

Look at the video below: Do THAT kid look like somebody who'd have incredible handles, great shooting touch, and super English with both hands? Not among his homeboys, but among all the nikkas in the WORLD who hoop? Come on, bruh. Kyrie look like somebody who'd get bullied when he was in HS. Just some regular, square ass Joe. But, dude could go out to any gym, and have nikkas looking crazy.

Nobody cares about physical appearance in high school... especially for a PG. And you can't evaluate handles and shooting touch just off looks. :mjlol:

No they didn't. Curry was an offensive star day 1. Those guys barely played as rookies

One older friend of mine who actually played some amateur organized ball (I never did) was talking to me about Steph as soon as he was rookie, saying he's got next :gucci:

I was mad as hell when GS traded Monta :beli:

Then he scorched the Knicks :patrice:
Couple years later...:ehh::hubie:
