Keep defending? Yall literally sit here and plot ways for average people to not make it ahead ol crabs. I'm a protoety keener, I'll be damned if I say, hey, minimum wage workers can't afford apartments so let me just charge 1000 for my unit when I know damn well I can get 1700-1900 for them. Just stop, the cost of living is high because there are a high concentration of high income earners, no, cali and ny aren't friendly to those making 40k, and that sucks, but I also don't expect people to not get what they can from those who are willing and able to pay.
Cost of living is also high due to demand. Competition for renting is HIGH in the bay. It's weird it seems people in this thread just think real estate prices points and price points in general just appear out of thin air.

Keep the basic costs like food and real estate low like the 90's and any decade before that. With all this new technology and alternative energy sources, it should be lower.
What do you mean by "keep" exactly? Assuming you're not advocating for communism, how would this be controlled?

Of course the city of L.A. will have to increase the minimum wage. The city is getting more expensive and by 2020, L.A. will probably almost be just as expensive as San Francisco.

So $15 an hour still won't be shyt by 2020. Minimum wage would have to be $25-$30 an hour to make a decent living but we know that will never happen.

It's the same thing in NY, there was a house for sale around here literally across the street from the projects that was $470,000 :mindblown: and it looked like complete shyt ontop of that.

I been looking at prices in North Carolina with the perpetual :francis: face for what they get, their mortgages are like $800 a month and shyt for a beautiful townhouse. Meanwhile, up here putting 20% down on even a basic ass house means you gotta come up with $60,000 - $80,000 cash, be stradled with a $1400 mortgage for the next 30 years :to:

you click that link for used homes in vallejo :heh: $399k for some 1 story 2 bed 1 bath type shyt and the house look run down :heh:

california boutta get fukked again real soon :francis:

im 27 right now, by the time im 30 im sure california will back where we were in 2008 :francis:

the women are literally bodacious and you can look dead in their eyes and at their breasts and they won't sweat it

Whites girl are like that here too. At least when they are drunk.

I like weed and not days when its not -10 degrees.

2 years ago my old apartment was $1200 for 2 bed room apartment

now its $1600 and they are begging people to move in because so many moved out

if they woulda kept it at $1200 and maybe lowered what they paid the management there by 5% or so they woulda retained the customers instead of trying to swindle people into $1600 a month for 800 square feet apartments :francis:

I mean I can see $50 increase in rent cause they have about 200 apartments or so thats an extra $120k a year in revenue :heh:

but $400 increase :stopitslime: and you cant use the excuse thats what the market is dictating cause

1) a lot of empty houses/apartments, so obviously people cant afford it
2) the people who were tenants had to move out because of the price increase
3) people dont want to move in because its too expensive
4) no other apartments in the area are charging that pricing, so where did they come up with the new $400 extra a month excuse outside of "new management" :francis: people were already struggling to pay $1200 a month, cause not only is that already high but taxes in california are ridiculous :mindblown: on top of PG&E + if you got services like comcast/at&t uverse im sure are higher priced in california than in other states cause they can get away with it :pacspit:
