To be fair though, fixing LA's public transportation would be a huge task for anyone. That city is so spread out, that's probably why their current system is inefficient for most residents.

The auto and gas industry brainwashed people into depending on cars and the freight industry control most of the rail tracks and have made it impossible for long range transit to grow.

Then you have government beaurocracy making upgrading public high speed rail systems too expensive.

Then finally, you have a culture so disconnected from one another that mass transit will bring problems into itself.

Great city. The traffic is almost as shytty as LA though. Almost.

Yeah I love the vibe. Everytime I go I stay and spend all my time in the gaslamp or OB so I havent experienced the traffic like that. I still love it out there though. Great city

Everybody wants to live in LA.

I don't understand why businesses have to crowd in one city. There's plenty of other places they can build, but they're rather go to LA, Houston, etc

Why not places like Indiana, OKC, Alabama. Once business in the above states can hold a city down

LA County has 10 million residents, double what Cook County has. So its no surprise the traffic is that bad. Plus Chicago has an awesome train system, and I speak from experience. I don't know if LA even has public transport. Plus with immigrants always coming into the city, it just adds more fuel to the fire. Now I don't know if anything can be done as far as public transport is concerned. I'm sure they got buses but even those are limited.
