Man, miss me with that.

Redd Foxx didn't get on until he was OLD. You see how old he was on Sanford and Son. Of course he's gonna feel a way about toiling underground for decades and then finally getting on. Of course he's not going to want to give away half his money in taxes.

Lamont was probably like 27-28 when he got on. He's honestly out of place to say squat about Redd
He wasn’t that old. He was the same age Dave Chappelle is right now. He just looked hella old. Also, Redd Foxx was one of the most successful comedians before he got on Sanford and Son. He wasn’t broke.

Thing is because of the large amount of ridiculous youtube videos thar popped up in the 2010s on the subject people think selling your soul means gay shyt or literally putting down candles in a pentagram formation on the floor. A lot of that shyt was only spread about black people and we were the main ones pushing it. It still gets pushed on the regular.

You can sell your soul by getting mixed up in drugs. He knows a lot about that. You can do it by neglecting your family so your career can take off. Certainly a career like that requires a lot of attention. You can do it by indulging in hoes in a fierce way.

The bs take that black people can only have shyt in Hollywood if they 'sell their literal soul' is some bigoted bs. And it's always some washed up person that hasn't worked in years running it.

If ypu are not actualized in Hollywood as a draw.

Or were never a earner for a legscy product in Hollywood.

How can you attempt to speculate on what selling your soul means in Hollywood.

This is one of those actualized people are whom should be the people talking and unactualized people stfu.

Did you even watch this video.

As he says in this video.

People are a certain way and I think you completely never watched thr video to post what you posted. Plus are not a real grassroots draw anywhere. So how or why are you qualified to speak. As someone who had a draw from a grassroots perspective we would know whom they are because they already drew and a grassroots headliner and have no reason to be secretive.

So who are you.
that you know Hollywood as a draw and what occurs?

Redd Foxx was a popular stage comedian for years before he "got on". He was getting money before Sanford and Son aired. The checks just got bigger, and his appearance fee for comedy got bigger.

Other entertainers who blew up in that same era probably didn't want to pay taxes either, but they did.

Your thoughts on that?

You cant take the money with you,so looks like he made the right choice.

Worst they could do is take his things. He would still have his humor, and like you said,he would be able to get paid off that. Unlike Lamont who bought nothing to the show really. He had to cling to the money, because that might be his last gig.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have paid. I'm just saying why he probably didn't want to.
