I really don't know why you think that she's making this up. I've heard dark-skinned men talk about how they want light-skinned kids and don't want their girls to be as dark as them. This shyt happens and is happening and it's ridiculous to pretend like it's some grand conspiracy to lie on black men.

Yup. I remember when his son Mega was born, and he posted a newborn pic talking about how his son had good hair. I also remember Neyo saying that "all the cutest kids are light-skinned" and The Game and his punk friend both posting that meme making fun of black men for having monoracial dark brown black kids.
Men in general, regardless of race, are horrible at policing other men's behaviour because they place such a high premium on not watching another man too closely. Women, both black and non-black, know that what the Latina woman is saying is true and have watched it play out in real life; there are just a lot of men on here that are in denial. Black men absolutely fetishize light-skinned black women and non-black women as being both highly sexual and yet more submissive than brown/dark black women to such a degree that young light-skinned girls have to be guarded and protected. My own sister is very light-skinned and pretty and once she hit 11, the amount of grown-assed black men (all dark) who started circling around her like vultures was disgusting. It's like light-skin/non-black features is such a prize that these men forget that they are dealing with a CHILD. Some of you need to stop being so defensive and start paying attention to what's going on.

A lot of men won't say things to their male friends that they think they won't accept. This behaviour is not new (my own father did it to a degree) but social media is allowing it to fester and multiply. I agree that most celebs are sell outs, but it's horrifying how common black celebrities bashing black people has become. Put "light skin/good hair" comments to the side for a second, can you imagine any black celebrity saying the shyt that Raven Symone hassaid back in the '90s? Hell, the early 2000s? There has been such a sharp decline in black pride and such a sharp increase in shuck n' jivin' that we should all be concerned. This crap is filtering down to our selves and our children.
