it aint called a slave deal for nothimng
Pac had that Vaseline Express contract...![]()
Actually PAC had a decent deal, Suge just didn't pay up or sent cars instead.

Im interested to know how many artists have a 360 deal vs doing business opportunites with a management company seperate from their label who hooks them up with the non album ventures. Like Rhianna is on Def Jam but gets her push from Roc Nation.
Sometimes its almost beneficial to have that outside team cause its saying to the label I can make my own 360 type deal without needing you, here is the album. Sometimes I wonder if labels hire management companies from outside to work on the 360 deal and I wonder if that's what she really has
Haha a whole bunch of smart dumb nikkas in this thread
Homie posts a video from 2009 talking about the music industry n thinks he dropping gems.
Deals rappers are getting now >>> Deals rappers were getting in the 90s.
Ask Dr.Dre, Dj Quik , Pac, Ice Cube n em about signing deals
Creativity wise, they already took off that shyt a long time ago, all new gen artists have almost complete creative control. If you really know how the game go, you would know that signing to a major nowadays is more safer than signing to a indie label. As a rapper imo, you should either go Major or do it ya self. No inbetweens. Causing indie labels rape a artist way harder than a major do.
Google The Cool Kids and peep how they have been struggling and suing their old indie label for the past half a decade for freedom out their contract.

More or less came in here to say this. First of all 360 deals offer more advance money. 2nd of all if a record label stands to make money of your touring, merch etc they are going to push it and a label has much more resources than just your management/agent or w/e.
The thing is... unless you are already making a shytload of money *WITHOUT* a Major Label... then you have nothing to leverage...
Most people think independent means you are pushing your music via the internet & doing open mic's etc when a real independent label operates just like a major but without major money which means they have staff, an LLC & every a major has. If you're independent & are pulling in $50k a year independently strictly from making music then a label will negotiate fairly on equal grounds but if you're an artist that works at Footlocker & got a break by an A&R hearing your music then when it comes time for the contract you have no leverage because you're not making money from music already...
I see so many artists on facebook & twitter talking about "I would never let a label take away my creative freedom.. I would never sign a 360!" etc & all that other bullshyt when they're making no money from music anyway so have no grounds to stand on...
People think independent is the way to go, lol... hell The Cool Kids were arguably the biggest thing buzzing underground back in 2007-2008 but they had a shytty contract with Chocolate... but because it's independent people think they were happy... why do you think they don't even fukk with eachother now?
A *REAL* Independent operates just like a Major...
@ Dipset fans who used to act like they were caking hard at Koch.We think alike... just posted this, lol...![]()

Oh I agree with all that, thats why I used to@ Dipset fans who used to act like they were caking hard at Koch.
But I do wonder if you can be an established artist and decide a few years into your career to let an outside management company help with touring and other business ventures and THEY (the management company outside of the label) can use your name as leverage to get the deals which you may have been limited from getting due to internal management inside the label.
Again, I dont know for sure..Im just honestly wondering.
Deals Artist was getting in the 2000s>>>Deals artist are getting now.

, same thing with Action Bronson too
Advance money aint shyt but a loan...its WAY easier to end up in debt for ANY artist fukkin wit a 360...that shyt aint "good" for any artist...the damn lawyer is sittin here sayin and nikkas still aint hearin it..theres no reason the label should take a piece of EVERYTHING u do...shyt aint a good look no matter how u slice it...successful artists always complained about the deals they used to go and how the label would rape their album sales..now they take a piece from every pie slice and nikkas have the nerve to say its good?..even if u Jay-Z u still aint gettin what u DESERVE..even if its more than everybody else..and that aint a good thing to me..
