Finished the 1st part today and while this documentary was indeed disturbing to watch it didn't really prove anything new. Me personally I'm neutral so far. Michael definitely acted suspicious and inappropriate around children numerous of times. But so far I've yet to find any clear evidence that could prove that he actually touched any child in any sexual way. I'm assuming that the 2nd part won't give out any clear evidence either so Im probably not even gonna bother watching it. This documentary didnt really change my view on Michael on much. I still look at him just the same as before watching it. A total weirdo but also one of the greatest musical geniuses in our lifetime.

Molestation cases are some of the hardest to prove due to the nature of the crime. People have problems prosecuting straight up strong arm rape even with rape kits because lack of physical evidence (of a crime). So unless you're looking for video/audio of the actual events happening, you may not ever meet that bar for conviction.
So when it comes to legality, considering that you can do all of the things he was accused of without leaving behind evidence, you can beat that case. What you can't do is convince me that he didn't have a compulsion to hang around with children in an inappropriate manner. I'm not about to 'cancel' his music or legacy but I'm not about to pretend like anybody else walking this earth would ever get that much benefit of the doubt with the kind of shyt he was doing.
The most interesting part of the doc is how they're trying to explain to people that he could be/do both, in regards to being a nice, kind, gentle person while also being an abuser, most people can't reconcile that those two things can exist within someone they idolize. And it's not far fetched for a victim of abuse, especially a child to lie/cover up for someone who they are trying to protect, people acting like that's nonsensical when that's very common.
But like you, the doc didn't change my mind about Mike, his music or his legacy, because I never believed that he was innocent in the first place.
