Lebron isn't a better shooter or defender.

I think this is the best way to describe/compare them. Kobe in short spurts is (was) able to and do amazing never-seen-before things scoring wise. Bron, becuz of his all around game and physical tools is able to do less eye-popping but equally amazing things every single night.
The whole "clutch" debate was basically a microcosm of that. Kobe dominates in the last 2 minutes while Bron dominates the other 46.
Its why I've always felt that Bron is better compared to Tim Duncan and Shaq than to Kobe. That consistency is an automatic 55 wins and a trip to the conference finals for any average team...
Dude even in their primes Rick Barry, Jerry West and Karl Malone were NEVER better scorers than Shaq. We also saw Malone and Shaq play in the 90's and no one had Malone as a better scorer. I think you are forgetting how unstoppable Shaq was in the post. To say only 2 players are better than him at scoring isn't far fetched. There are other players that were probably just as good, but certainly not better. He said in their PRIMES, not career. It's not disrespectful to CONSIDER them like I said. To say that ONLY Jordan and MAYBE Kareem are better scorers than Shaq in their primes isnt disrespectful? Do you dudes watch the game? Those two are the ONLY ones better SCORERERS than Shaq in their primes?![]()
You post this shyt and you EXPECT a healthy and unbiased debate on Kobe?
Kobe spent the first 2 years on the bench, spent the next few years sharing the ball with a DOMINANT Shaq, missing numerous games due to injury recently and he STILL winds up 4th all-time leading scorer in the history of the NBA. How? If he's not real consistent and isn't a better scorer than Shaq, then tell me how he is about to be #3 before he retires?
Y'all going to stop underating kobes playmaking ability and overrating lebrons playmaking
The biggest question for me is :
How can a supposed GOAT contender have only ONE MVP?
It just doesn't add up brehs.![]()

You want a simple answer? Lebron is the more consistent well rounded player.
? No one can deny his consistency, especially when you look any player in history at his position, besides Jordan, that could put up his numbers and change games in a quarter or 2. Hell, younger players in the league right now struggle to string together a months worth of games where they can average what he averages in a single season
Because we are talking about Lebron? How can anyone bring consistency in a Kobe debate? ...Kobe played a bunch more seasons than Shaq and he shoots a lot more than Shaq did.
Shaq, in his prime, was a more dominant and consistent scorer. I don't just look at how many points someone scored over their entire season.
I don't think Karl Malone is a better scorer than MJ because he's higher on the scoring leaders. I don't think Duncan is a better scorer than Lebron or Melo because he's higher on the list.
Kobe had played for 17 seasons and he's a high USG player.
MJ played for WAY less years, took a retirement in his prime, and is still where he is. Kobe ain't a better scorer because he's played longer.
and you want a unbiased debate?
Threads like this are pretty pointless. Lebron is on pace and almost certainly going down in tbe books ahead of Kobe all-time. Of course Kobe groupies will disagree but when have they ever mattered?

Malone isn't better, because he wasn't more effective than Shaq at scoring the ball. Not just because Shaq is a better dunker. In the playoffs Malone usually underperformed whereas Shaq took his play to another level. Phil ran the offense through Shaq when Kobe was a Laker. That right there says a lot. You are underrating the hell out of Shaq.Unstoppable in the post isn't the debate, that's no question, Shaq in the paint is the GOAT next to Wilt and Kareem. I think you're forgetting how Kobe was unstoppable on the whole court in his prime, it took TEAM defense and ZONES to curtail Kobe (see Boston in '08 Finals) Shaq never faced the defenses like Kobe has, Hack-A-Shaq is laughable to what Kobe faced because of his DOMINANCE in his PRIME. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing Shaq isn't a GOAT scorer, NO, I'm disputing the players that were left out. I saw Malone since day one and he was dominant in the paint too, just not like Shaq, but does that discount him because he didn't dunk like Shaq in the paint? I'm just saying, go back and check stats of other players before comparing PRIMES (like you guys agreed on) instead of careers.
So Kobe's best all around season isn't as good as Lebron's career average?
27.5 on 50% / 7 AST / 7.2 REB
So good job? Kobe's best all around season is less efficient and good as what Lebron has averaged over his entire season.
and we see Lebron shy away from multiple shots throughout every game
Nikkas like Kobe and Russell Westbrook will heave that shiit at the end of the first half with no fukks given. Nikkas like Lebron won't to protect their percentage. Kobe will throw up that shot with 2 seconds to go in the game. Lebron will pass it to Chalmers instead of taking it himself.
