Players would have had to take a significant paycut if they voted to delay the start of the season to late January or in February. Most of the league isn't making LeBron money or close to it and didn't want to leave that on the table. It is what it is
Superstar players showed years ago that they don't give a fukk about the lower tier players when they refused to smooth over the cap and opted for the cap spike that transpired.
honestly lebron is just damned if he does or doesnt. He can’t win and if he does win it’s an asterisk.

1. Players were not willing to give up the money
2. NBA was not willing to pay back the money to networks who have already paid for X amount of tv games.
3. Everything happens at the 3 point line or the paint. When you got 8 out of 10 players on the floor standing in the same relative area expect a lot more contact and a lot more leg injuries...
4. With the amount of money players make teams are going to be EXTRA cautious and every injury is going to be treated to the inth degree. Players used to sprain an ankle and they would be "out 4 to 6 weeks" now damn near every injury is "out indefinitely" because the player is making so much money you can't afford him to re aggravate an injury and now your 45 million a year player is out even longer. Has anybody seen or heard from Klay's original trainer after he tore his achilles? I bet that dude is dateline murder mystery status now...
