Thanks man, we good, I'll tone shyt down on my side.

The point being that it's not % of team salary that matters, it's % of salary cap. Once a team is over the salary cap, it doesn't matter how much more they spend.

Most teams need to pay three max salaries to get three All-NBA players. The fact that the Warriors already had there All-NBA players in 2016 without having had to play a single max salary required the intersection of four different miracles. If Curry hadn't been injured and paid ultra-cheap, if Dray or Klay had gotten their big contract, if Barnes hadn't refused his contract offer...then Durant never would have come and the Cavs would still have had at least a 50-50 chance to beat the Warriors last year.

Yes, Shumpert filled a MAJOR need. You're talking a guy who played 409 minutes in the last three Finals. Who the hell plays those minutes instead of Shump? Take him off the 2015 team and the Cavs don't have a single backup guard for most of their playoff games. He started 31 games last year alone. Take him off the 2016 and 2017 teams and who are the Cavs playing at guard in the regular season when Kyrie or JR are out? Who is the defensive stopper at guard off the bench even when JR is playing? As much as Shump sucked, they absolutely needed him.

They got D-Will and Frye because they came cheap. Who would you have preferred they got instead? My point is that they TRIED to find cheap vets just like Golden State did, and sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. But what serious option are you suggesting?

David West = Richard Jefferson, so I don't know why you bring him up. Both teams had at least one cheap old vet who worked out. But you right - West isn't needed because the Warrior core SEVEN is so good. And so we got to look at how they got that seven and stop talking about irrelevant players on the end of hte bench.

TT failed on rebounding in the playoffs...but what were the Cavs supposed to do instead? Next to Lebron, TT was the most important defender on the entire team from 2015-2017. If they let him walk, how would they have replaced him? They would STILL have been over the cap even without his salary. If he resigned for cheap (say $10 million), they STILL over the salary cap, so what difference does it make? They simply couldn't get anyone who could do what TT could do whether his salary was on the books or not.

I'll tone it down as well. At the end of the day, these cats arent paying me. Lol.

Anyway, I'll address each point

- Over salary cap: Yes, it does matter. (For this argument, I am only going Cavs vs. Warriors, cause they are the top 2 teams. No one cares what they can do against the Pacers or Raptors. Its about 'ships.sport) The Cavs (this season) are spending $140 million, the Warriors $135 million. Anything over $99 million, you paying $4 for $1 luxury tax. My point is if you are gonna go over the cap, spend it on guys who can play in your system/ who you trust. The Warriors trust 10-11 guys to play a role, and give their main players a rest. The Cavs, only 8-9 tops. Frye wasnt seeing the floor. D Williams was worthless. Spend that bread on players who can spell LeBron. Thompson aint worth $16.4 M. If you gonna go over, spend wisely. The Cavs couldnt buy a cheap 2nd round rebounder like Jordan Bell this year?

- Shumpert: What major need does Shumpert fill against the Warriors? He wasnt stopping a damn thing in the Finals, and (as stated earlier), was ZERO help on the offensive end. He was a waste of space for $10 million. For that money, you cant find a Rudy Gay ($8M), a Jamal Crawford ($4.3 M). Someone who can score with Bron on the beach. Another option so Kyrie can rest. Something.

- West= Jefferson: You are correct. They do match each other overall. Difference is West brings to GSW inside rebounding and toughness, so Curry, Thompson, and Durant dont have too. The Cavs need that rebounding and toughness as well, and Jefferson doesnt bring that. The Cavs have NO inside scoring.

- Thompson: I didnt say REPLACE him. He is a key to the team, no doubt. He needs help down low. He isnt worth $16 M. You are talking cap. Does Thompson bring what Draymond brings, since they make the same money? Thats my point, spend the money wisely. Dont spend just to spend.

People cant complain about EVERYONE on the team getting all their money, AND have all the best players. Someone has to sacrifice. Really, the person who should sacrifice bread on Cleveland should have been Bron, to bring key players in. LeBron cant take ALL that money AND complain he needs help. Choose one. Thats the point. Thats why I say thats on him.

I don't think he's getting another ring. Cleveland is fukked, thanks to his own decisions on JR/TT. Disposable guys he forced into getting huge contracts. While it's true he couldn't have foreseen KD would go to GS, he gave the Cavs zero flexibility to respond to ANY move GS made. They didn't have to sign KD, they could have simply signed an upgrade over Barnes and would likely still have won this year.

Where will he go next year, after getting swept by GS? What option is there for him to join a team that can beat GS? I don't see it. Lakers seem like good fit on paper but does Magic want to temporarily stunt Lonzo's growth by forcing him to play Bron Basketball: stand on perimeter and wait for Bron to pass to you? Lonzo isn't a good enough shooter for that. He seems like he COULD be a great PG tho...why delay that ascent in order to rent Bron for a couple years with no guarantee you win?

lebron aint goin nowhere. hes not going to the western conference and there isnt a team in the east he can go to and they are more talented than GS

he should just play it out with what he has. kyrie and kevin are still young.

There's one team but he's not going to Minnesota.

Who was available that they had money to buy? They signed Tavares and Cedi... who in particular was put there that you think would really make a difference?

- Shumpert: What major need does Shumpert fill against the Warriors? He wasnt stopping a damn thing in the Finals, and (as stated earlier), was ZERO help on the offensive end. He was a waste of space for $10 million. For that money, you cant find a Rudy Gay ($8M), a Jamal Crawford ($4.3 M). Someone who can score with Bron on the beach. Another option so Kyrie can rest. Something.

But NBA money doesn't work that way. They didn't sign Shump on the open market, they traded him then resigned him. If they didn't resign him, they would still have ZERO dollars to sign anyone else with. They can't use the money on Gay or Crawford w/out making a trade.

And again, Shump played 409 minutes against the Warriors in the Finals. He was their 3rd and or 4th most important player in 2015 Finals and 6th or 7th in 2016. Who could they get for him?

- Thompson: I didnt say REPLACE him. He is a key to the team, no doubt. He needs help down low. He isnt worth $16 M. You are talking cap. Does Thompson bring what Draymond brings, since they make the same money? Thats my point, spend the money wisely. Dont spend just to spend.

You ain't talking cap, cause even if you pay him $12-13 million, you still WAY over the cap. And someone else definitely would have given him $13-14 mill if the Cavs didn't.

So we're back to that one again.

What flexibility would the Cavs have had if JR and TT had gotten smaller contracts? You realize the Cavs would still have been way over the cap?

Doesn't matter, TT would be a tradeable asset if he wasn't being paid like he is

If they lose that boy definitely gonna leave:mjlol:

Dude is like his fans, he ain't got no loyalty to one team. Where's the easiest place to go to win a title and he gonna try to get his ass there...

And he not coming out west either... even though it looks like he might have to. west not easy enough for him. I don't want to see him in LA unless Lonzo has the ball 75% of the time. No "Bron ball" over here :scust:

nikka got all these role players ridiculous contracts, got all-stars not meshing because they play Bron ball, got his coach fired and replaced with someone HE wanted... and he still gonna jump ship:mjlol:
