Lebron has more triple doubles because he's a much better passer and has better awareness on rotations than Kibe does. Kobe is a good passer but he has tunnel vision when it comes to offense.
Kobe isn't a better on-ball defender, his defensive prime was just in a time where he could handcheck. Lebron is literally a DPOTY contender as a perimeter player, ins league where the rules are now skewed to let Offensive players flourish. Let Lebron be able to hand heck and be a lot more physical and he'd be, by far, one of the most terrifying on-ball defenders.
Kobe is the better shooter and has a more versatile scoring set while Lebron is the better slasher and probably one of the best finishers around the rim ever. The mere threat of Lebron's drives Plus his awareness and passing make him have a bigger offensive impact despite Kobe being a better scorer.
When it comes down to it, Lebron can get the ball in the basket at a more efficient rate while being a better playmaker, more impactful defender, and a better rebounder. He doesn't have the same "scoring mentality" that Kobe does but he puts up similar numbers.
Look at this...
35.4 PTS on 45% (27.2 FGA) / 6 AST / 6.9 REB - this is a result of mixing Kobe's best seasons for those categories
Vs.
27.6 PTS on 49% / 6.9 AST / 7.2 REB - this is literally what Lebron AVERAGES ACROSS HIS ENTIRE CAREER including his rookie seasons
Kobe's best AST and rebound seasons ever don't compare to Lebron's average over his entire career. Simply put, Lebron does more better and his godly athleticism make him a comparable scorer to Kobe. No, Kobe doesn't have Lebron's physical gifts but that can't be held against Lebron.
Lebron has more impact on
Both ends of the court.
This whole post is inaccurate. There are no defensive metrics, definitely not DRAMP, that support Lebron as a viable DPOY. Just Lebron whining to the media to create some false narrative because anyone with any basketball savy knows, outside of MJ and a few other HOF, that a perimeter defender NEVER impacts the game like a bigman. 2012-2013 had at least 3-4 bigmen (Gasol, Duncan, Chandler, Noah, Sanders) and 2 perimeter players (George, Allen) with better cases for DPOY. Lebron gets his defensive value through help side defense and the fact that he can switch on almost anybody in the league in PnR situations. He has never been the on-ball defender that Kobe has, who has shown he can lockdown guys like Parker, Irving and Westbrook, people Lebron struggles to defend.
Lebron is a better passer but that's not why he averages more triple doubles as Kobe has had plenty of double doubles with points and assist. Kobe is a jumpshooter and farther away from the basket and thus less likely to rebound, not to mention he does not have that bigman frame that Lebron has. He is still a great rebounder for a guard.
Lebron is the greatest finisher ever but he doesn't put defenses on their heels like Kobe. He plays smart, efficient, minimalistic offensive game. You are overstating his impact in relation to Kobe.
Lebron has a higher usage rate and thus you see other players whom he plays with turn into jumpshooters (Larry Hughes, Big Z, Chris Bosh, Shaq, Wade) while Kobe is more portable with his off-ball skills (he posted his highest ORAMP playing off the ball with Nash handling it before all the injuries)
Also you should learn what AST% and REB% are because posting raw stats between a prototypical guard and a combo-forward is misleading. The fact that you say it's not close shows an obvious bias when you can't even interpret the numbers you are looking at.
