LeBron's numbers, like everyone's right now, need to be put in context. Yes, they're fantastic, but quite a few guys are putting up video game numbers. The way the game is currently played is different than before and leads to bigger numbers.

Ben Simmons can't shoot a lick and is putting up 17/9/8 as a rookie.

Harden's putting up 31.5/9/5 after putting up 29/11/8 last year.

Giannis: 30/10.5/4.5

Since Steph went down, KD is putting up like 34/10/8 (which will continue as long as Steph is out).

Westbrook averaged a triple double last year and is putting up 23/10/9.6 this season.

Even Victor Oladipo is putting up crazy numbers out of nowhere.
Makes no sense to even bring this up

the ether
He should have allowed Kyrie and Love to carry the offensive load while he focused most of his energy trying to contain Durant instead of trying to match what he was doing offensively.

Yes, Lebron should have spent all his energy using magic wizardry to shut down a 7' tall elite jump shooter that NO ONE in the NBA can shut down. :mjlol:

While Kyrie should have been given MORE than the 25 shots/game he already put up because guarding Curry clearly wasn't nearly as important. :mjlol:

And Kevin Love shot 39% in the Finals on 14 shots/game, but the trick was giving him even MORE offensive responsibilities while the DPOY guarded him. :francis:

Lebron set the tone that offense was going to be prioritized over defense against the Warriors. Kyrie and Love only followed what the leader was doing. If Lebron would have made defense the main focus, then the series would have been more competitive win or lose because they would have followed his lead.

You went straight from "Lebron should have let Kyrie and Love carry more of the offensive load" (even though Kyrie shot 25 times/game and Love was doing terrible with the 14 shots/game he was already getting) straight to "Lebron should have shown Kyrie and Love that defense was what was really important."

You just saying whatever shyt you think will work. How the hell you gonna blame Lebron for not letting Kyrie/Love play enough offense AND for letting them play too much offense?

:deadrose:

Not to mention, aren't Love and Kyrie grown men who can show effort on defense on their own without their on-court daddy having to tell them to play hard? :what:

The Warriors had MUCH better defenders than the Cavs. Draymond was the DPOY, Klay was the best defensive guard on the court, and Iggy was the best defender on either bench. Meanwhile, half the Cav lineup couldn't even play on that end of the court and you want the Cavs' best rim protector (Lebron) to simultaneously guard the best offensive player on the other team. How the hell you think turning it into a defensive game was going to win it for the Cavs?

Golden State had better shooters AND better defenders across the board, had a more stacked starting lineup AND a far better bench, but the Cavs would have won if only Lebron had been willing to take a back seat. :dead:

Meanwhile watch, while ya'all complaining about Lebron doing too much in the Finals and not being willing to take a back seat, someone else gonna claim that Lebron defers too much. :troll:
