Lebron James on the Astros: If somebody cheated me out of a championship I would be fukking irate.

For someone who's not the biggest baseball fan, what happened with the Houston Astros and how did they cheat?

They used a camera in center field to read the signs the catchers were giving the pitcher about which pitch to throw next, then signaling their batter to know what pitch to expect.


It's kinda expected that teams will steal signs when they can, but the league has been more and more strict about declaring that they aren't allowed to use technology to steal signs and aren't allowed to use technology to communicate information to players during the game. The MLB had been extremely clear about that and started fining teams and shyt and the Astros went ahead and blatantly violated the rules anyway.

They used the live feed from the center field camera to a monitor that was outside the dug out. After they got the signs down they would bang a trash can to signal an off-speed pitch was coming.

I thought we could get a hypothetical off about what itd be like if something like this happened in the NBA, how would it go down, if some shyt like this ever did happen in the past, whod be effected the most, how yall think silver would handle it. How the fans would react etc.

Instead its just lames and agents in here telling Bron stfu hes not allowed to have an opinion on the biggest story in sports..

I guess I am in the minority as I don't see the big deal here...from players at least. The entire reason we have governing bodies and officials/umpires is because if you leave competitive people to thier own devices they will do whatever it takes to win. Any player from any sport bemoaning "cheating" needs to STFU. As I said with the PED shyt, people love the old "If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin" shyt but then wanna cry about this. That said, if you are gonna have rules then you should enforce them. I look at this the same way I look at the numerous Pats scandals, I ain't tripping because I know everyone is down to get whatever edge they can, however, if you really wanna stop this kinda shyt you do need to come with real penalties. Million dollar fines for billion dollar orgs ain't it. Who wouldn't take a supsension in exchange for a championship? Until you start vacating titles and taking away awards, it means nothing.

Mad ppl have gotten fxckd over by this an many different ways. This is the perfect opportunity to set a precedent to deter this from happening again.. And Manfred basically did nothing about it

I mean I get what youre saying. Honestly I was on some .When they got caught... But i assumed theyd be punished. The fact that they werent is now a problem.

Youre hearing a lot of people stress the impact of cheating because the Comissioner basically said "hey its bad but its not that bad... Its just the world series after all" and publicly dismissed the effect that cheating has. The players vocally are stressing that this shyt is wrong because the commissioner ISNT by passing out wrist slaps. If they dont speak up and force action, then nothings stopping this shyt from happening again...
