I’ve been saying this in the other thread, but this is what happens when people look to athletes and entertainers for leadership in social justice. It’s a very tiny minority of entertainers that can actually be that principled and that rooted in a cause.

It’s ok to commend LeBron or people like him for whatever gestures they make towards the cause. Outside of that they should be looked at for what they are which is people that can easily be compromised due to their business commitments.

agree 100% if an athlete speaks out on a social issue its a great thing (or not - see tim tebow on payment of college athletes )

but they dont have a responsibility to speak on every issue

Again LeBron, and other athletes, (even the ones who speak on domestic issues), should not have to speak up for the politics of every corner of the world. It makes perfect sense to be more knowledgeable about politics in your home country that you were born and raised in, that you live in daily, vs a foreign country that you don't even speak the language. Because you have an opinion on police brutality or Trump in America, you should also know about what's going on in Brazil, or South Africa, or Venezuela too?

The only problem for me is LeBron sort of telling what someone should and should not be outraged about and trying to influence punishment for speaking up for a social issue. Last time I checked, Morey never said anything negative about LeBron speaking up for social causes that were important to LeBron. So who made LeBron the oppression commissioner to tell people what they shouldn't tweet?

He just should have just stayed out of it, because it wasn't about him in the first place.

Morey ain’t supporting shyt! He deleted his “support for freedom” tweet. Bron went at Morey for putting the players in that situation (how do y’all not understand this?). Now the players have to answer for something he should be speaking on. But I guess his “support for Hong Kong” isn’t that strong because he didn’t even stick to it
