Thunder play Western playoff-caliber teams more often. I don't think the voters would personally (to a degree) delve into those type of stats, but they would have knowledge/access of them. They're plastered just about everywhere you look now and they would no doubt use them in weighing up consideration. The problem there is that the Heat have been better against the West this year than they have the East, they're 16-9 vs the East and 15-5 vs the West. I know that the people voting wont really go in depth with that type of thing, but if they did they'd see Bron's numbers are pretty much the same vs the West.

Here's how the panel of USA TODAY Sports' Adi Joseph, Kevin Spain and Jeff Zillgitt; Hoopsworld.com's Steve Kyler and Lang Greene; and the Detroit Free Press' Vince Ellis viewed the MVP race this week (points on a 7-5-3-2-1 scale):
LeBron James, Miami Heat: 4 first-place votes, 38 points
Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder: 2 first-place votes, 34 points
Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers: 11 points
Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks: 10 points
Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers: 7 points
Shows that folk do believe KD is very much in the conversation.
With numbers like this...I cannot understand why people think KD is better...
He the closest thing to Ocsar Robinson we will ever see...

I recognize LeBron is great and all, but ...
