This was posted earlier in the observations thread. Theres better matchups across the board with this seeding, and it makes it easier for you in early rounds if you get a top 2 seed while still being difficult towards the end because you will be forced to face the absolute best.

Nothing wrong with wanting a competitive edge. In the current format, Playoff Bron plus an "ok" roster can get you out of the East most years.
The new format means....unless LeBron can force his way into the Warriors or another Super Team, he might struggle just to get to the Finals. No shame for LeBron in winning OR getting beat by a loaded Warrior squad. Getting beat in Rd. 2 by some random West team though

To get out of the west, you have to beat one good western team in most years, two at the most. The first round series is basically a bye unless a star player is injured.
If the conference difference is what you claim, you have to discount the fact that Kobe was always able to play inferior teams on the finals instead of an additional round against a top west team.
The same amount of extra credit Bron can get as always being the best player in all his Finals wins
