He's right. I'm in no way shape or form a LeBron James fan, but the ring argument has and always will be trash. LeBron James is far and away the best player the NBA has ever seen and if he was playing in Jordan's day. Nobody would even know Jordan.
spoken like a loser

rings do matter at the upper echelon top 1%
Lebron retiring with 5,6,7(etc.) rings is much different than Lebron with 1 ring.
Lebron with multiple rings makes him the undisputed #1 of his generation and is the perfect summation of his career from being the Chosen One to really becoming the King. It then begins the conversation of GOAT in the rarified echelon that only MJ currently has the claim (if it happened that way ...)
Lebron with one ring will probably be viewed as him not reaching his full resume potential. We all know he is currently the greatest physical specimen to grace the hardwood and his constantly improving skillset is currently minimizing any flaws he may have. But, walking away with only one ring would always be held against him (if it happened that way ...)
Until Bron reaches 5 or 6 rings??Only a matter time![]()
