He's right. I'm in no way shape or form a LeBron James fan, but the ring argument has and always will be trash. LeBron James is far and away the best player the NBA has ever seen and if he was playing in Jordan's day. Nobody would even know Jordan.

this dude led team USA to Bronze medal has 1 ring and trying to go at MJ :laff: dude needs to stfu

This some b/s. Bron was like in his 2nd year and hardly got any minutes.

Plus, they made Iverson & Marbury the team captains, that's automatic failure.

rings do matter at the upper echelon top 1%

Lebron retiring with 5,6,7(etc.) rings is much different than Lebron with 1 ring.

Lebron with multiple rings makes him the undisputed #1 of his generation and is the perfect summation of his career from being the Chosen One to really becoming the King. It then begins the conversation of GOAT in the rarified echelon that only MJ currently has the claim (if it happened that way ...)

Lebron with one ring will probably be viewed as him not reaching his full resume potential. We all know he is currently the greatest physical specimen to grace the hardwood and his constantly improving skillset is currently minimizing any flaws he may have. But, walking away with only one ring would always be held against him (if it happened that way ...)

same thing with QBs and superbowl rings

Peyton Manning is statistically the GOAT but he's never gonna be in the same breath as Joe Montana cause he only got one superbowl ring. Just like superbowls define the best QBs, the best basketball players are defined by rings.

If Bron don't like that and wanna be defined by stats then he shoulda played baseball. They love their stats over there.

at the end of the day, no real fan judges by rings.

Every one knows that's a slippery slope argument.

When asked by NBA TV's Ahmad Rashad about which of the two, Kobe or LeBron, has had the better career to this point, His Airness wasted little time in showering Bryant with championship-fueled praise (via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel):

If you had to pick between the two, that would be a tough choice, but five beats one every time I look at it.

And not that he [James] won't get five. He may get more than that, but five is bigger than one.

this is what was said for those that didnt see

jordan also gave kevin durant props people are freaking out about 5 rings to 1

Lebron is in a rough spot jarring with Mike. The media ain't gonna let him give a "lets just see how it all pans out" keep it moving response to anything MJ says even tho that's what he actually needs to be saying, added with the fact that its Michael Jordan whose certification needs ZERO validation, so what can you really say? Even if you have a point you still gotta heavily consider your audience/critic before you reply.

Bill Russell's in that "upper", "rarified" echelon. Why isn't he greater than MJ? :troll:
