Wow, this is how easy false rumors get started. All Mike said was that up until this point Kobe has had the better career because of his rings. In that context he's absolutely right. Lord forbid, but if Lebron's career were to end after this season his career would not be as good as Kobe's.

people are gettin emotional for no reason jordan wasnt dissing lebron jordan even gave kevin durant props

I'm glad he said this

"ring-counting" is the dumbest way to compare players

If rings aren't everything, why was he so happy to finally get one?

im pretty sure you understand that he meant rings arent everything when it comes to comparing player vs player.

Of course the goal is to win rings.

IMO Lebron right now is better than Kobe's best. and he has a chance to surpass Jordan, but in doing that he will win at least 3 rings.

:heh: at rings not mattering when it comes to the player you're dikkriding

Why else do you play the sport? :scusthov:

You can't call yourself the best and you dont have the hardware to back it up. If you were really that dude, you'd will yourself to win. fukk everything else. You'd will yourself to do it. And even though I like troll Peyton stans :lolbron: Football's different. 22 people have to come together for a team to win. In Basketball, its easier to control the outcome. As much as you Bron Stans want to crown him, it aint right to put him above nikkas who done won 5, 6, 7 times. He got to pay his dues, just like Magic and Bird was :usure: until Jordan paid his. If Bron gets about 4 rings, he can come sit at the big boy table with Jordan, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan & Bill*....until then....enjoy that sippy cup :manny:

he meant players of equal talent

kboe and lebron in terms of talent are somewhat equal, lebron is 1/3 in finals attempt

im glad hes my soon to be GOAT, no homo

If u think about it without any bias, how would the rings NOT have more to do with the team than the individual player?:ohhh:

Jordan is obviously selfish and anyone who makes his argument is saying "...my teammates were there...but lets be honest they really arent shyt":lolbron:

MJ is slick though. He could also just be adding the icing to the MJ>Kobe debate by indirectly saying 6>5. He will get all the Kobe fans on his side by saying this but he is really putting them in a box. :russ:

That's exactly what he's doing. He knows Kobe can never touch him so if he successfully pushes this Kobe > LeBron agenda, he can kill 2 birds with one stone.

But it ain't working. There is no LeBron vs Kobe debate. Jordan loses props for even trying to pull that bullshyt off.

And I'm sure when people say rings matter, they're talking about players of equal value. Does Horry really belong in the discussion? Does Kerr? How about Ron Harper? Adam Morrison? Jordan Farmar? Only a complete and utter moron without a clue as to what context is in the discussion, would even attempt to bring up a role player alongside a premier player.

So in the 70s, Kareem was the GOAT with one ring because he had 4 MVPs in 7 years? Thats what you're saying right?

70- 29 14 4 52% no steals or blocks recorded ROY All NBA AllDef2 AllRook
71- 32 16 3 58% no steals or blocks recorded MVP FMVP All NBA AllDef2
72- 35 16 4 58% no steals or blocks recorded MVP All NBA
73- 30 16 5 55% no steals or blocks recorded All NBA
74- 27 14 5 1.5s 3.5b 54% MVP All NBA
75- 30 14 4 1s 3b 51% All Def
76- 27 17 5 1.5s 4b 53% MVP All NBA AllDef2

You kids are acting like what lebron is doing, hasn't been done before. People want to talk about him being compared to Jordan, he doesn't even compare to Jordan much less Kareem.

:jawalrus:
Also if rings aren't everything, why did he go to Miami? Bron's decision to join up with wade and bosh should've put the whole "ring" discussion to bed for good. He knows how important they are or he would've never left

Plus, I can't believe nikkaz still using the Robert Horry argument.

i dont see why someone couldnt make the argument for kareem, why not?

idk why u only took 7 years from the guys extensive career tho

my point being he kinda fell off stat wise:jawalrus:

edit: :ohhh: did u quote me to prove my point or are u disagreeing with me?

Lol bronze is hurt. If winning rings is insignificant, then what does it say about stats? Or awards? Or even playing? Dude is like jay z begging people to call him goat.

He never said they're insignificant. He said they shouldn't be the deciding factor in determining whether someone's among the greatest. Next.

can't believe he compared role players to superstars

superstars are judged by rings....Jordan and Magic don't respect nikkas without rings

I'm glad he brought up the role players. Showed how ridiculous Jordan's logic is. Too often a team accomplishment is credited to one individual who is apparently passing to himself, setting picks for himself, and guarding the opposing team's 5 other players. :comeon: Next.

He's right. I'm in no way shape or form a LeBron James fan, but the ring argument has and always will be trash. LeBron James is far and away the best player the NBA has ever seen and if he was playing in Jordan's day. Nobody would even know Jordan.

:what: Next.

this dude led team USA to Bronze medal has 1 ring and trying to go at MJ :laff: dude needs to stfu

He isn't going at MJ. He just said one's greatness isn't determined merely by amount of rings. Next.

same thing with QBs and superbowl rings

Peyton Manning is statistically the GOAT but he's never gonna be in the same breath as Joe Montana cause he only got one superbowl ring. Just like superbowls define the best QBs, the best basketball players are defined by rings.

If Bron don't like that and wanna be defined by stats then he shoulda played baseball. They love their stats over there.

Now, Peyton can't be mentioned in the same breath as Montana because he only won one SB. :mindblown: I bet you think Marino can't be mentioned in the same breath as Trent fukking Dilfer, either. You know what...
