Good.

Internet Black / Closet CACs need to be outed. Get off that.

If only his skills weren't low key admired by all. Older heads tend not to GAF and are far more open about it, even if they hated him.

Yeah that was a bit much.

KD is like Dirk but way more athletic....and Dirk gave Bron that work. Even somebody like Love was putting up crazy numbers with 1/3 of the white boy magic Larry Bird had.

Put Bird in the league today...where the 3 is much more of a weapon than it was in his era.

That's Dirk on steroids. And he wasn't as bad on defense as people make him out to be either.

You hype up any great white hope.

Considering the widely held notion is that he was a "bad" defender I'd almost go so far as to say he's become mildly underrated. He had physical shortcomings in terms of lateral movement that kept him from ever approaching great on that end, but it wasn't for lack of effort or anything. He was a net positive on the whole and found a way to make plays, some of them even game saving. It's just strange that a guy who had three All-D selections (2nd Team, mind) and led the NBA in DWS several times could gain such a reputation in hindsight. He wasn't no McHale or DJ defensively out there relative to his position, but damn...

Somewhere on an Xbox
And if had magic's passing ability
And if he could talk shyt like Bernie Mac
And if he had the heart of a stone cold killer
And if he had the detmination of a psychopath
If he had John Stockton's vision
And if he had Nick Van Exel's game win/clutch shot ability

Then he would be Larry Bird
Magic was a better passer than Larry.

Threads like this only solidify that cringe I feel when I see young cats shyt on the 80's/90's era players. This was probably the apex of when skill and athleticism crossed paths. Nowadays, the game is predicated on either one or the other. Now we have a "best player in the world" that can't get a bucket with his back to basket, who needs 15 dribbles to get to his spot, and afraid of the free throw line. I've mentioned to people before, Bron could alleviate those "tired" narratives if he diversified his offensive game and learned how to get those same two points he had a running head start and collision to get, by simply getting in the post and turning over a shoulder. Larry is one of the best to ever do it and it's because his game transcended his physical abilities.

When Reggie Miller hit the GW three over Jordan in Game 4 of the '98 ECF.

THIS is why Bird is a GOAT.

He was like "DUH, it's Reggie Miller...he's SUPPOSED TO hit that shot. Now getcho punk asses back on defense." :heh:

The unmitigated confidence, the expectation of victory, the standard being nothing short of excellence....THOSE are the qualities that made this dude so ill. Too many players today lack those.

Was Bron even guarding Dirk:skip:? Also lol at Bird being better than Bron. LeBron shyts on him defensively.

If he wasn't maybe he should have been....I mean he can defend 1-5 right?

:mjlol:

Kinda looks a little sus when he had a washed J Kidd locking him down on the other side of the court. You pointing that out just makes him look worse...he ain't want no smoke with Dirk he sure as fukk wouldn't want none with Bird.
