Those beats don’t sound anything like GRODT as it’s more of a west coast sound. He should’ve just kept it for himself then :manny: but both them albums have aged in my opinion I don’t regularly listen to either anymore.
Everything from back then has aged but it's still 50's best work and Doc 1 is Game's. We don't listen now but those were two huge albums, closest modern day to it was Views and Damn. and both had to be in the game for years before getting to those albums.

50 was working on his 2nd album when Game got signed and Dre gave the album to Game to get Aftermath/Gunit going on the west. 50 had to record from scratch and Massacre showed it and kicked off him falling out with Dre.

Game had expectations for a career because of Doc 1 and he hasn't lived up because that album's not his. So it only looks like Game had this huge trajectory and missed the mark. He's what he would've been without the GOAT stimulus to start. The bipolar episodes behind the scenes have hurt more than his music but that's not there either like I said

He can rap if he wants to, it’s just that everyone wanted that formula he got on The Documentary. That kind of music is contemporary Hip Hop. A bunch of mixed bag music that’s reaching every fanbase possible. This was made way after his debut album. Plus he then made music with DJ Premier.

I don’t see how people don’t consider him an elite rapper purely musically. He can bar up anybody along with crafting real songs. It’s his non-music endeavors and social media antics that sours people on him.

I can say that has also tuned me out into his persona a bit but he’s calmed down from before. I really don’t listen to much of his music unless it’s something more deeper than the usual bar fest stuff he does on occasion.

Talking Game on The Coli is always entertaining.

Dude is bipolar and has acted goofy for the better part of two decades. His gimmicks are very obvious and easy to clown him for. Same time, this the forum where dudes who unironically stan Jim Jones and Tony Yayo will tell you Game is trash, so :manny: A lot of the hate stem from him sonning G-Unit by himself.

End of the day there's very few rappers that debuted 2005 forward with a better catalog. Game an old fashioned rugged, meat and potatoes (:dame:) rapper with a knack for stacking bangers and making good albums. Very underrated storyteller too. Kinda like a poor man's Xzibit skill wise and stylistically, but more versatile. Based on catalog and accolades he comparable to Ross and Jeezy, but he kept making quality projects longer than either. A lot of the east coast and southern audience disregarded him after the 50 fallout but he was still a factor out west through Doc 2 + 2.5.

They should :manny: I know you worked with all of em, probably no patching things up with Game and 50 right? But the beef always seemed like something that got way more serious than it should have.

Yayo and Banks both seem like very solid dudes that could get along with anyone not acting a fool.

I never actually met Buck or Game. I was just a young sound engineer in they offices back then. Yayo and Banks are cool. Yayo had a wild ass crew back then with all them Haitians but he seemed to have mellowed and said he would like that money and give the fans something. I dunno about 50. I havent seen him in bout 3 years. We dapped and caught up for 2 min and he just asked about my pops and ish (how I got the job. Pops used to be at trackmasters) but I doubt it.

Game in his peak was nice, and with 50 Cent's help and Dre's support, he did some dope songs. It was never really much more than that. Some say about rappers that "if XYZ was from NY people would say he is a legend", Game is kinda the opposite example :francis: I don't think anyone would have been talking about him if he was from NY, but somehow he managed to be considered a "generation" in the Compton dynasty so many talk about him as a legend.
