Which is part of my point. Her work isn’t head & shoulders above everyone else’s. So I’m not sure why people think she should automatically win

Beyoncé over Renaissance? I think Beyoncé is not even as good as IASF.

4 was really great.
This alone voids any critique you have regarding Beyoncè's work. I Am Sasha Fierce is by far her worst album and I find only pop centric and white folks say any differently.

Also I'm sick of ppl making it a point to say what Beyoncé does and deserve regarding the AOTY when voters have made it a point to not vote for her because basically "she thinks she's all that". Y'all will say she doesn't deserve the awards she has and pays for them UNTIL it's time to say she doesn't deserve AOTY. Weird down.

Renaissance is a great R&B album, it winning dance electronic is a joke
Renaissance is NOT a R&B album. It is a true dance album with different forms of dance music including House, Disco with some R&B thrown in for good measure. That EDM/David Guetta shyt is not the only type of Dance music regardless of what the yts say.

Let’s be real.. as a neutral party

The root of all this commotion when it comes to Beyonce ‘detractors’ is that she’s clearly loved, revered and adored not jus by her fans, but her peers, other celebrities and the entertainment itself.. regardless of medium (film, media, music academia) etc and pop culture as an institution..
This sort of praise/respect isn’t contingent on how much albums she’s sales, what awards she’s received, future accomplishments.. she’s an established diety in the eyes of everyone who ‘matters’ .. that type of adoration tends to bother ppl something deep.. it burns them that they don’t ‘get it’ ..:yeshrug:

The thing with Beyonce not winning has nothing to do with good or bad, but rather the people that actually vote for these awards to begin with.

They're NARAS. It's impossible to check the type of representation at NARAS, but it's easy to imply.

Want Beyonce to win, become a voter and diversify the panel.... till then....

It doesn’t void anything because it’s an opinion. Beyoncé as an album is not all of that and it doesn’t have the mega hits of IASF. Y’all only diss IASF because it’s pop.

And you don’t know why she isn’t winning AOTY. They may not like her album above the other nominees

True and not true if she’s not getting the big rewards.
The media and a loud minority hype her.

The last 20, 30 years only a handful of black artist have won in the major categories. She did it once with SOTY

In its 64 year history only 11 black artist have won AOTY. Lauryn Hill was the last black female artist to win it in 98

Not even Alicia Keys who was a Grammy darling

But regardless 33 Grammys is still a flex regardless. Most the wins are in R&B which makes sense. The R&B world/voters obviously think very highly of her

This here.

People who voted on AOTY literally admitted they didn't want to vote for Beyonce because "she wins too much already". Most of them even said they haven't even heard all of the albums that were nominated. Hate is still out here reigning supreme. There's never been any artist who exuded greatness that wasn't hated on. Success makes a lot of people uncomfortable. And the minute certain artists reach a level few ever touch, you start seeing comments about how they're "overrated" or "they win too much'. It's the nature of envy. And it'll always be for weak people, and corny.

no theyre not

she hasnt missed since 4 came out, that was 12 years ago. she hasnt missed in 12 years

blame the committee for not giving her AOTY.

Her 2013 album lost to fukking Beck. She puts out music that charts, gets the acclaim, and impacts the world in a much larger way, but they snub her every year. She's done all she can. The issue is the fakkit-ass committee :manny:

Out of all her albums, she should've got Album of the Year for B'Day imo. Felt like every song on there was a hit at that time, you couldn't go anywhere without hearing Irreplaceable, Upgrade U or Get Me Bodied

I think people think she's overrated because of the comparisons to Michael, the ticket prices, her being a billionaire and lowkey because she's a black woman. She hasn't been an underdog in years so its easy for people to hate. We only miss the greats when they're gone unfortunately
