Most of the 70s into the 80s songs had such great writing the lyrics seemed innocent enough and didn't register to kids, and even adults if they were sexual. You'd think the song is about one thing but it's saying something else.

The Hip-Hop nikkaz
The R&B nikkaz usually came up in the church and sang in the choirs. They also included the pretty boys who had the girls all hot & bothered.
The Hip-Hop nikkaz were the bad ass kids who skipped class & smoked weed in the parking lot or were the most gangsta ass cats that you knew who were always ready to bang
Everybody had their lane, though.
Once women started lusting after dudes like 2pac & Snoop the way they did Jodeci & Christopher Williams, that's when shyt started to change
All the pretty boys and church boys started pretending to be thugs. This literally happened in my neighborhood. A dude I grew up with who's grandfather had his own church, who used to be in the choir, started jacking nikkaz & we were all like.
Women went from being afraid of the thugs and wanting pretty boys to chasing after thugs and wearing being baby mamas as a badge of honor
