And that right there is why nobody would ever think we won the trade. Harden wasn't that until he went to Houston & had the freedom to do whatever he wanted on offense without a KD or Russy there in front of him. At the time of that trade the Wizards wouldn't give up Beal & the Raptors wouldn't give up Jonas, but people act like there was some team out there that was going to give up an all star in return for him.
Totally. PLUS he just straight-up flopped in the playoffs.
But, he was young. Everyone knew he had the potential to be a dynamic scorer, and he turned out to be a very good player. And okc got bit parts for him.
The real issue is, you sold low on him. His value was down, the team didn't want to shell out money for him, and they flipped him for cheaper pieces. And as a result... they have a cheaper product. That's life.
But until one of these guys develops at least into a very good player... it's tough to make the argument that you won because you got three shiny quarters for just one dingy dollar.
