I don't like them...
Ever since around 2005 when alot of these types came out, they really started pissing me off cause it was obvious they didn't give a shyt about the music or the art or the artists.
In all actuality, they have no business being there other than being in the business of the industry.
I feel the same about music critics.
@Art Barr
They weren't talented enough to be musicians or couldn't be taken seriously in the culture cause they had no realistic skill set, so they used their IVY league school connections to become an intern at sony and suddenly they hip-hop?
It don't work that way.
This.
I am always big on coaching artists because I understand how it is to get shytted on and to overcome (peep my threads). A dude I was recording and coaching referred his friend to come record with me. He came, it was his first time recording, couldn't stay on beat, no control, sucked azz.....etc. by the time he was done, dude had a nice lil track for himself. When leaving he told me, and I remember his words clearly "I didnt think it was going to be so hard".
Havent seen him in a long time...
Fast forward a couple years, local twitter is buzzing about a dude who writes for one of our local papers shytting on artists who actually have put groundwork in Miami.
