I don't like them... :smh:

Ever since around 2005 when alot of these types came out, they really started pissing me off cause it was obvious they didn't give a shyt about the music or the art or the artists.

In all actuality, they have no business being there other than being in the business of the industry.

I feel the same about music critics.
@Art Barr

They weren't talented enough to be musicians or couldn't be taken seriously in the culture cause they had no realistic skill set, so they used their IVY league school connections to become an intern at sony and suddenly they hip-hop? :dahell:

It don't work that way.

This.

I am always big on coaching artists because I understand how it is to get shytted on and to overcome (peep my threads). A dude I was recording and coaching referred his friend to come record with me. He came, it was his first time recording, couldn't stay on beat, no control, sucked azz.....etc. by the time he was done, dude had a nice lil track for himself. When leaving he told me, and I remember his words clearly "I didnt think it was going to be so hard".

Havent seen him in a long time...

Fast forward a couple years, local twitter is buzzing about a dude who writes for one of our local papers shytting on artists who actually have put groundwork in Miami.

While this is true, this does not negate the fact that they are leeches and wannabes in hip-hop like Skhreli.

You have women like Miss Minaj, who actually are pretty born and bred hip-hop...and many women that are hip-hop cause they're rappers or DJs, and then you have the aforementioned.

And let's look at the difference in how they're treated.

Women like Rose, Stacks, etc get fame unwarranted and have to do nothing. They don't have to put in any work.

Minaj, Jean Grey, Nitty Scott, any female rapper is fighting an uphill battle from both ends for credibility in hip-hop. From listeners, to critics, to the media, the double standards, record labels, suits, marketing, society, beauty standards, femininity in a male dominated genre, misogyny, sexism, etc.

So that makes them more hip-hop than Amber Rose in my opinion, and that's just me.:manny:

And this goes back to the fact that people Internet hip hop involved and not locally. People don't support local artists and scenes like they should

For instance: Kevin Gates built up a huge following locally and worked outwards. So he got to the point where he doesn't need radio play or hits to sell. That's what having a strong LOCAL support of a scene does.

If people stopped giving credence to complex and all these people like Amber Rose or IG hoes like they're somehow representive of culture over LOCAL culture then there would be balance and people instinctively wouldn't pay attention.

You think the rock bands or people into rock music who are actually involved in their local scene care what a complex or pitchfork is propping up or critiquing ? fukk no lol sure if a band gets their shyt reviewed they'll post it. But aside from that they do not care because unlike 99 percent of bloggers and Internet personalities who've made a career off leeching, they're actually the ones who help to keep their subculture local scene alive and preserved. It's not the people on blogs or the Internet writing up think pieces. They'd have nothing without the people who are actually and actively involved. It all comes down to getting involved in your local scene. That's the foundation of music culture.

I'm talking about all these non-artist entities trying to be larger than they are. Trying to be larger than life.

Trying to forget that without music...they're no one.

Without the artist, they're just someone selling bullshyt trying to get a check for being a middle man.

Without the artist, they're just party promoters with no real skill

without the artist or the music, their only claim to fame is being on the scene.

without the artist or the music, they're only ambiguous titles full of air like brand consultant, or social media maven or industry executive.

Lets kick this off with Karen Civil

So apparently this girl stole money from Camron AND Joyner Lucas:

Let me help y'all out

Only thing I'm against is people scamming artists out of money . That's deplorable and Karen civil looking funny in the light.

If you are an artist, dj or producer, use these bloggers journalist and hipster types for their influence and networks to further your brand and craft. Be resourceful. This is your domain and they are the resources .

Complaining about them on a message board won't make them go away, just turn the tables around and make them push YOUR agenda.

Being resourceful is free though lol. I have a friend who contacted a journalist for an invite to his area as the journalist said he was working on a write up on gang cultures in inner cities & in turn the same journalist helps dude promote his music now.

That didn't cost him anything but now he has someone in a whole entire social circle and network spreading his music organically through word of mouth.

Building relationships is free, that's being resourceful

I hear you. But that depends on what you tryna do too. Everybody's cool until its time to cut that check or really get that plug. Then they act like they don't know you.

Then you got alot of people out here who don't give credit where credit is due. And then act like how they livin now is all them.

It's somewhat the nature of the Beast but it's still a real Fact. And it doesn't pardon that shyt either. Real is real and fake is fake. But everybody wants to say they Humble and it was all on them or their team
