Butler is a future Hall of Famer. Miami is a win away from the Finals.

This hasn’t been his best offensive series but it should not be an indictment on him. His teammates have stepped up. Jimmy has always been a solid clutch time player.

In an ideal world he’s a strong number two next to a player like a Durant or Kawhi. :manny:

He needs a few more all nba 2nd or 1st team and more all nba defensive teams before we say for sure hes a future HOF. He needs to end this series sunday and give denver a hell of a run in the finals

A Finals appearance and like 2 more All-Star teams makes him a lock and that’s achievable for him.

Lakers making the Finals u funny :mjlol:

As a Heat fan, in a vacuum, I think Jimmy Butler is the perfect fit for the Heat culture. BUT with that being said, he’s a max player and naturally the expectations that come with such are different. Ive been adamant all year that this Heat team is good enough to win it all except Jimmy Butler isn’t quite good enough on the offensive end to be the go-to guy when the role players that the Heat have counted on all year aren’t playing well. So, for sake of discussion, my questions are simply the following:

1) Is there another max player in the league that could be the 4th leading scorer on his own team in the conference finals and still be immune to any criticism?

2) Is there another max player and unquestioned leader of his squad in the league that feels like he’s just “one of the guys”? I don’t feel like Jimmy is significantly better than the other main contributors on the Heat on the offensive end. It makes Spo’s job infinitely harder because Jimmy; and even Bam (he’s still young and developing so I give him a pass), aren’t the type of “best players on the team” that will overwhelm you offensively so it’s a lot of just feeding the hot hand. But when that hot hand can he one of 6 guys because your best player(s) aren’t the type of player you can give the ball to and he can consistently get you buckets in one-on-one, it makes it that much harder when the role players aren’t playing well.
This is the main reason I want the Lakers to play them. I’m in no way worried about their offense

Yall acting like Jimmy hasn't shown us he could be the go to guy in the Pacers series. The way Miami runs their offense, there doesn't need to be a consistent number 1 scorer. It's dynamic similar to the 2014
Spurs

He's a max player because he's a 2 way star and a leader. Dude doesn't have to average 30 points a game to deserve a max

Mike Conley, Drummond, Heyward, Demar and Harris etc are all max players... but yeah I'd agree i wouldn't call Jimmy a superstar, as ambiguous and abstract of a label that is...but the whole harping on the max contract thing, we got a bunch of muhfukkas to call to task before we get to Jimmy

And none of those players are “Max” worthy players either but it’s the system that they have in place.

Jimmy’s a good solid player that’s found the right situation for him!

On the Coli you only deserve the max if you average 25 nvm the fact you give up 25 on D and don’t really contribute to winning .

I’ll take Jimmy at 30 because he’s a culture changer. There aren’t many of those walking around.

Out of all the players that are making the max he’s not the one to single out as not deserving .

iunno wtf happened to his jumper. This nikka’s nickname was Jimmy G Buckets back with the Bulls. Had multiple 50 point games...he was an elite scorer back then. I haven’t seen him have those “Chicago” type explosions since he left the Bulls...

I was legit arguing that Jimmy was as good as Kawhi back then :francis:

Dont be biased. Jimmy dropped 40 in the first game of the bucks series too. He is capable of leading the offense, he just isn't called to do it every single game

They play TEAM basketball that's what alot of yall don't get
