Good taste but unless you appreciate impressionism you won't see where Picasso was coming from with cubism or where the others were coming from with variations of Abstract paintings including Basquait's neoexpressionism or Wharhol's pop art.

Paintings did then what music did later - take classical versions of expression and devolve them then evolve them. As hip hop fans we should appreciate them imo because that's what our music does to more traditional music
