Chicago west side has some rough parts but I’m not so familiar with it. I rarely go.
I do know this place is over there

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Coney Island also has a reputation as a slum but east of Stilwell Avenue is where Trump Village apartments are. Nice buildings with high tech features and security. My cousin was raised here before moving to PA

Ditmas park surprised me.

There was an infamous murder that happened here back in the early 00s that got huge media attention and was one of the ID channel shows.

To sum it up. White dude from New Jersey goes to party in Manhattan. Typical white people always trusting people and ends up in Brooklyn after meeting a few random dudes. Party ends up being filled with hood rats and as he leaves he’s shot multiple times on those very same nice blocks.

thank you gotta get rid of the depression in this forum
hate to be the downer, but this thread is about to be a snapshot of racial wealth disparities.:francis:

started off with Riverdale, perfect example. a tiny Jewish enclave in a borough overwhelmingly black and hispanic, and it's the only 'nice' area

but, I'll spin it. Jamaica, Queens has that gritty rep, and some parts earn it, but that area of Eastern Queens actually made Queens the first county in America above 65k population where average black income exceeded average white income

James Brown lived in that last one for a bit

You can walk through calm neighborhoods with nice houses and never see a white face:blessed:

Laurelton: The Queens Community Gentrification Forgot, Where Black Incomes are Higher than Whites

In Laurelton, the average income for black families is $81,000 year. For whites, it is $73,000.

"We have every profession you can name," said Vernel Bennett. "We have from the lawyer to the doctor and the accountant, you know, to the plumber and the electrician."

Blacks began moving here from the South in the 1940s. They also came from other parts of the world.
