Don't start with this diamond shyt :snoop:

From another post on the subject:

LAD first week sales according to wiki: 690,000
7DT first week sales according to wiki: 663,000

If we are on our "lets be reality" shyt, pac actually sold damn near twice as many physical copies with his "last" album and went on to do an ORGANIC 6 mill which is more than the "diamond" album that actually went 5...this "pac wasn't selling..." shyt is beyond flimsy.

He barely even beat him with first week sales, and that "diamond" really translates to less albums sold than 7DT in total.

The fact that this "diamond" argument is being used so frequently in these beating the dead horse ass debates is hilarious and shows how far you have to reach to try to make a point.

:pachaha:

you sound mad breh. it would be foolish of me to ever say pac wasn't selling. but the fact that big went diamond 11 years before pac isn't my fault.. get over it

Diamond with a double cd? All pac had to do to double big's first week sales was add an extra disc to his album...fukk outta here with that. nikkas trying to win stan wars on a technicality.

You know what my point is you sombish :pachaha:

That "diamond" translates to 5 mill, makaveli sold 6, with one disc. shyt is really a non-discussion until you start trying to use the diamond certification to make some kind of claim about that biggie was somehow more popular.

It's disrespectful how fools disregard Pac was a multi-selling platinum superstar before Death Row's co-sign:pacspit:

i refuse to conform
It's funny how Pac's haters try to discredit his record sales. His first album was the only album he had that didn't sell well in fact it sold really bad. People either bootlegged that shyt or just overlooked it. He then goes plat with S4MN, MATW, and AEOM in less than 4 years. But than his haters try to select time frames to discredit him :russ:.

I can't lie, Biggie done well with his first album. He sold a lot for his debut and garnered a lot of attention for his city (he did stole 2pac's album concept without giving him a shout out, Money B also confirmed this :umad:). Biggie was facing a lot of competition but he easily carved out his own niche.

Those sensitive, egotistic maniac, Alzheimer suffering New Yorkers can stay mad.

not to mention pac had a gold and platinum album according to soundscan before biggie lmao.

Lets talk about how to this day Ready to Die, Big's debut sold almost as much as 2Pacalypse Now, Strictly 4 My nikkaz, Thug Life and MATW combined.

You know what lets not talk about dumbass sales :ld:

Why are Pac fans so insecure about Biggie's legacy and success? It's like they can't handle the fact Big is still loved and revered till this day. LOL @ Bringing up "All Eyes on Me" Sales. 1st that album came out in the thick of Pac's controversy. The Rape Case, The Shooting, The Jail Time, Suge Knight, Biggie Bad Boy Beef. He had a lot of press attention at that point. If you look at Pac's 1st 2 releases as you said. "Ready To Die" outsold them. Shoot you can throw in "Thug Life" and Pac still didn't have the numbers.

"Ready To Die" did 2.5 Million albums while Biggie was alive and is very close to 5 Million today. This was his debut album. "AEOM" was Pac's 4th album. Also "Big Poppa" and "One More Chance" were Bigger hits than any Tupac Song at that time before "California Love" dropped which featured one of the biggest producers in Hip Hop with Dr. Dre (Someone Pac would later diss even though he gave him his biggest hit of his career). Biggie had more success on the charts after his debut and more success with his singles period. "AEOM" and "Makaveli" were the ending for Pac. And guess what. "Life After Death" sold just as well. So if you look at it, Biggie was pacing to sell more records than Pac over the long run. Also "Born Again" and "Duets" two cut and paste albums sold over 5 Million albums worldwide combined. Biggie's got 25 Million Sold Worldwide off 4 LP's. Tupac has 75 Million sold off over 10 LP's. Do the math, Biggie is already one of the biggest sellers in Hip Hop History.

AEOM > LAD

we don't even gotta compare the rest, I do like how you backed up off that diamond bullshyt in favor for straight up stanning, i commend you.

:salute:

I won't say shyt since it's a pac stan this time starting the dumb thread, next it will be a biggie stan, shyt never ends, fukk all of you honestly

being dope on the west coast is almost like a cheat code. You can sell so much if you do it right.

that's why Kendrick has a shot at longevity

That's the case NOW, back then the west was in control and had a lot more competition, it was the opposite during that time period. Who was the last soloist from NY to sell records like that before big? like consistently platinum...LL? At the beginning of his career people like ice cube were still having his run, death row and g-funk was taking off while he was with DU.

Biggie came out the gate with top notch promo/production and PR with a huge void to fill. Album was great, timing was great, puffy was great at what he does....trying to compare those circumstances to 2pacalypse is just nikkas trying to score some arbitrary points. Had suge been able to sign pac when he wanted to pac would have benefited from having a "Dr. Dre" and death row production and mystique earlier.

The west coast had that same kind of void when game came out and did numbers.
