Even knowledge god is dope. It's gotta be the only rap song to mention Grasmere, SI.
idk man.. I just think that beat is RZA at his most dusted & not in a good way.

I do appreciate Raekwons verse about an italian dude who named his fish "marijuana"

This album was popping b4 the net was like that. Its classic.

Now Stankonia? Nah.

no it wasn't. not on no classic level. it was poppin on a hot album level. that's pretty much it.

unless you were from some bama town or something.

and i was on the internet in '96. and it wasn't getting heavy props on the classic level on the internet back then neither. it gets those props on this new-era internet after the fact tho. go figure.

Album was everywhere :childplease:

i didn't say it wasn't.

that doesn't make it a classic tho. there were a lot of albums that were everywhere at the time and were a bigger deal.

bottom line. that album's popularity wasn't anywhere near being KING CHIT. nor was the quality hailed as such. not even remotely close to the conversation.

they weren't even a top-tier group.

Mine and Whatever Concerns me
I got big mel on ignore for saying Hell on Earth is not a classic

this old ass cac has me steamed

also OP you were trippin with this ice cube shyt... :what:

nikka your young ass just started washing your own balls. fukk you know about Ice Cube in his "heyday"?

This is exactly what this thread is about. Young kids that think things are classic just because some editorial cacs wrote a piece on it for some tumblr blog that all the cool kids go visit. I bet you really honestly never heard the album except for some down time you had to surf youtube before you went skating.

And for the last time.....I went back to revisit the album, because I actually OWN the CD. And I listened without bias, and the CD is fresh. You nikkas don't read?

A lot. But simply not having bad songs doesn't thrust an album into classic status.

Lost Tapes basically is a bunch of 'small word's or 'poison's. Good songs. But there aren't many classic songs. The only song I love on it is 'nothing lasts forever'. I know how Nas Stan's move. They were baffled by not one wack song and itching for another album to rally around.

How many albums have NOTHING but great songs and maybe a good song here or there?

Linx is my favorite album and I dont even know if I can agree with this

Knowledge God is :whoa:

also a lot of people dont fukk with Can It All Be So Simple Remix. I like that joint though

If I can chime in, i'll say somewhere between 30 or 40.

and theres probably an additional 30 or 40 albums that aren't on par with the others, but are still good enough for 5 mics.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Take a seat you bytch ass :scusthov:

The Massacre is an undeniable classic. Better then GRODT

The Massacre is bloated, uninspired trash, bruh. Half of that album is filler. It's obvious that 50 knew this and didn't give a shyt cause he knew it was coming off of GRODT and the public would eat that shyt up. Should've took some of those tracks and beats from The Documentary (a much better album) and put them on his album then he would've been alright. The best song that he released in 05 wasn't even on that album. It was on the piece of shyt soundtrack to that piece of shyt movie he thought everyone would go see. Everything since GRODT has been downhill musically for 50 and it's no wonder he went into other ventures to make $.

Is that the same thing as a classic? This thread is basically implying 15-20 classics over a span of 25 years...
