Knife attack at Chinese school wounds 22 children - CNN.com
But its only guns that hurt people
Tragedies bring out the irrational fears of people who can't think long term.
I'm gonna grab some food and start replying to previous posts in a few.
Breh, bs happens all the time all over the world. We know that. But if you use a couple of instances of violence around the world to refute that you have shoot outs every other month, you're in denial. At least some other posters acknowledge the issue, some either call for a ban, others for tighter control, but they are aware that OBVIOUSLY something is wrong.
And notice how the kids in China are "wounded". Those in Connecticut are DEAD. That's a sensible difference to me, and probably to the kids and their families.
honestly guns are outdated
we dont even live in the same time as the people who said we should ahve the right to bear arms
most people cant even justify having a gun
protecting your home?
hunting?
MAkes no damn sense if you ask me breh.
I've never heard anyone say "I need protection from my government" in real life as justification for owning a gun. Only fringe lunatics say things like that or maybe the idiots on here.
And by the way you bring up some good points. But I know you'll get berated by the gun lobby in here.
And whoever said our founders set up the second amendment so the government would be afraid of their people is wrong. It was set up to arm militias to fight the British.
Breh, you have no idea how reassuring that is, because that's like the number one reason that is brought here. Props for bringing some sense in this discussion.
Yea, but the problem isn't the guns.
I already have documented countries that have higher rates of gun ownership than America yet less gun crime.
We already have strict laws in America for illegal possession. In Florida it's automatically 10 years, even if the weapon is unloaded.

Here is the info on Switzerland.
BBC News | EUROPE | Switzerland and the gun
Brehs, it's one of two things:
A. Too many guns are the problem, in which case you need tighter and stricter FEDERAL control (it's stupid to have tight controls in one state whne you can drive to the neighbouring state where it's more lax).
B. Guns are NOT the problem. People always bring up Switzerland, but it's my understanding that those guns are issued after military service (so people are disciplined and know how to use the gun) and tightly regulated. Whatever the case may be, they are obviously doing something right: when was the last time you heard of a shootout at a swiss school?
So for those who use "The Swiss excuse", ask yourself this question: why is it that Switzerland has all those guns but hardly any gun violence, but the US do? Either Americans are just naturally violent (which I don't believe, even though I sometimes wonder), or there are...rules that could be implemented to reduce said gun violence. If you don't ask yourself the question, for me that means that a dozen dead kids every now and then don't bother you.
Can somebody answer this: is your "right to bear arms" REALLY worth all these innocent victims?
