l ain't exactly a fan of Cole, but I had my wife's truck for most of the weekend (no system)so I had the radio playing the whole time and heard his single (dont know the name) at least 10 times throughout the weekend. With that said, how is he irrelevant?

this, he's on the radio at least 15 times a hour...he sucks, but he's not irrelevant.

LOL by the time he drops his 3rd album this time next year, Cole will take over the game and none of you will realize it. He low key and focus on what's important: expand his hardcore fanbase. Most people will dikkride and worship swag rappers that don't sell shyt and make weak ass club sings, but Cole gonna drop his Vol. 2 and do all kinds of crazy shyt.
Nope.

Dude is just gonna stay in his lane of mediocrity and hope his record label slides gift cards to PD's across the country to add his average records into rotation.

Cole is in such a weird place musically. He's like top 3 biggest artist in their 20s but still.. I don't feel like people REALLY care. Maybe because his buzz is solely music based. No extra shyt.

I think this might be pretty valid, i dont really hear nothing about jcole until a new single drops from him, and I dont really hear no bossip stories, or insane interviews from him either. I like that myself, just dont love him that much musically, he is solid though and his heart seems in the right place, he just aint that 'ill'... i think his best bet is to keep focusing on doing his positive tupac angle songwriting wise and bring down the tupac sounding vocals he sometimes has... i dont think he will ever take over the game, but could see him having a fabulous like career, where no one ever thinks he is on top, but before you know it dude has racked up a decade of solid gold records.

And alot of those pop corn muthafukkas are straight out of the radar. Look at the movements these cats were cheer-leading over the years and yet they irrelevant. :

Lil B
Soulja Boy
White Girl Mob
Brick Squad(Even though I like Gooch)
Meek Milly aint even Gold
Big Sean bricked
2 Chainz bout out the door
GBE(Crackbaby music thats gonna have a 3 year shelf life)
French Montana

The list goes on. Hell even Juicy J who been everywhere this year and featured every hot of the moment artist along with doing work for Miley Cyrus and Katey Perry bricked. Cole done found a formula, his base and knows whats work which is why he's gonna get better within every album

The list goes on and yet J Cole

Threads like this should go for people like Big Sean or even Big Krit. J. Cole though? :childplease:

He just dropped same day Ye did and beat him out within a few weeks, 2 back to back gold albums right? Singles doing very well also, even though I hate Crooked Smile, it's all over the radio. I went to a concert back in September and his fans are loyal as fukk, spitting his songs off mixtapes word for word like they're all anthems.

Basically, this thread is terrible and displays a lack of perspective on reality.

:camby:

OH and he just got added to that international tour with Eminem.

What a dumbass thread.

I guess eminem will fade to and has faded after not releasing any material for 3 years and still outsold anybody not named drake this year :beli:

most of the people on the radio 24-7 don't sell any records meanwhile this dude has 2 gold albums in a climate where records don't sell well and he is fading away now :what: he hands down has the most loyal fanbase outside of drake out of that class of rappers, radio spins dosent transition into album sales.

Are we really going to use Eminem as a standard or example for anything? The guy has a weird rabid fanbase and a lot of non-Hip hop fans who purchase his albums. He is his own anomaly. Not to mention he's 50x more popular than J Cole was on his best day.

I don't mean just on the radio. 'Cant Get Enough' was getting spins at bars, clubs, radio, events, everything out here. Now he doesn't have a song people are playing out here so he's faded in the area. You are taking the term 'faded' as this idea his career is dead. That's not what is being said. That buzz around him isn't what it was before. That certainly could change with a hit song but at the moment, no, he's just not buzzing at all in LA like that.

even powetrip STILL get's spins out here. everytime Cole does a show out here it's a packed house. He just had Wale opening up for him about a month ago here in the D.

Cole is far from irrelelvant, only getting bigger, sky is the limit for that kid.

See as a stan, that's what bothers me. I feel like he has the potential to be able to take over but he just doesn't do it. He settles for being a fab. It is what it is though :yeshrug:

Why didn't he release She Knows? That sounds like a hit. Plus he released a stupid video for Crooked Smile, late too. smh

Dude isn't Eminem, he can't afford to disappear for a year before releasing a new album.

:ld:well he did for 2012 and came back in 2013 selling 300k (first week sales and ended up outselling a legend in the game) with a platinum and gold single. Cole is in it for the long run. :bryan: at nikkas doubting him and just completely shyts on them
