Let's talk about how the south lowered the standard of lyricism in hip hop...

I'd rather punchlines than similies cuz after all those smack rappers along came weezy with his wack similies raps. And meanwhile nikkaz was snapping it out. The truth is every region was garbage in that era... None worse than the garbage known as hyphy from the west :troll:

instead of making a bunch of general baseless statements, lets actually list the rappers that couldn't make music and judge from there.

and keep in mind, making radio songs and making good music are 2 completely different things.

Just because a song is popular doesn't make it a great example of songwriting. Most of the hit songs that came out of the south were trash. There were some Classics like What u know and International players anthem but that shyt was the minority

You crazy.

It might not be good to you, but if you can make a song that gets people dancing and reciting the hook all over the world... You accomplished an amazing feat

Let's take a dude like Serious Jones for example (even tho he's from Jersey...but NYC claims Jersey when they want to)
Bars/Punchlines for Days, could murk any freestyle on any DJ's mixtape.

but couldn't make a radio single...much less a normal song to save his life.

that was the case for about 90% of them dudes.

i know cassidy aint from new york but how do you feel about cass
