As someone who has Kansas on his list of final four teams, I would hate to see them playing in an elite 8 game where he takes himself out the game out of fear of injury. Even worse if he has ppl in his ear talkin' about "I would sit this one out. We have to think about the draft"

You don't want that mentality to carry over into the league.

On another note, I give Self props for navigating through all of this. Hell of a coaching job, considering his health issues

At best, it's a Kyrie situation where he was hurt all the time but the talent was too obvious.

But if you're load managing in college where it's less than half of the games during an NBA season, where he's sitting out parts of games where they'd conceivably need him, his priorities aren't aligned with the rest of the team.

I get the fear of injury (we just saw JT Toppin's college career end on a torn ACL) but then don't play. Jalen Johnson quit on his team and while his draft stock took a hit, now he's the main man on the Hawks. If this is on his dad, then Darryn needs to realize he ain't Kawhi and his dad ain't Uncle Dennis. Lonzo and LaVar (really LaVar) pulled this shyt, and it ended up bad for both of them. If he's healthy, shut everything else out and play.

You're load managing in college you're not going to hold up to 82 games. I can't even buy that they're just keeping him healthy for the NBA because none of the other prospects are doing this. If he's not the problem his handlers are and I'm not inviting those same people into my franchise. The goal is to have one of these kids lead you to a ring and you can't count on his availability to do that.

Letting a kid sub himself out is crazy. I'd leave his ass in the game or bench him for good. The AD will have to have to choose between me or him.

Peterson has taken it to an entirely new level but it should have been clear he wasn’t taking college seriously when he committed to Kansas- this just tape for him. Plus I think he may on that Mike’s secret stuff because he’s shown all the symptoms but that’s slander and I won’t go further on that, either way this is overblown.

I’d take him #1 off talent alone, but you should absolutely be wary about his commitment to the game or if he’ll try to finesse a franchise for a bag then coast. Either way he’ll sleepwalk to 20 a game in the nba, Acuff is the better player right now but that height makes him too much of a liability- although I think it won’t effect him at all, my 1 and 2 for sure

He's protecting his future by load managaing college games which is crazy.
At the same time, its still a red flag to me. This goes hand in hand with competitiveness. He can care less and these things carry over to the next level. And im a big peterson fan
